After doing some tests on my current seatbelts I found that they are very dangerous as the shoulder strap sits too low and past my shoulder edge and below my H point. Simulating a sudden stop my body slides off the seatbelt towards the left. Not the desired effect. Rather than fixing the current x amount of year old belts I decided to buy a racing harness for both the driver seat and the passanger seat. I settled on the Racers Choise Inc (RCI) 3" 5 Point Latch type belts. Btw, Brett, they are on sale now from Rare Spares if you are after a set.

Quick question: When a steering wheel is said to be "14 inch diameter", what does that mean exactly? Is it the absolute measurement from the rim outside to outside, or is it the diameter from the center of the rim on one side to the center of the rim on the other. I'm trying to compare aftermarket wheels to the OEM wheel on my 1978 280Z. The OEM wheel is 15" from outside to outside, or 14" from the center of the rim on one side to the center of the rim on the other. Anybody know? Thanks.

Hi group, I read posts daily but, 'till now, haven't participated much. I have an early '71 Z, pretty much restored to (concours?) original and need a resource for the plastic fasteners that hold the front rubber door/window post seals to door body. Also, need the fasteners to attach the lower door rubber splash guards to bottom of doors. If anyone can lead me to a source for these fasteners, it would be greatly appreciated. While I am here, does anyone have the small seals that fit in the upper foreward corner of the quarter windows? They are a small rubber, T-shaped seal that seals the upper rear corner of the door window frames and the upper forward corner of th…

This is addressed to our members who don't reside in the U.S. as I've not met nor heard from anyone in the U.S. who has seen one. In fact probably Alan in the U.K. will know. Thanks in advance. The Fog Lamp Switch, the one that is supposed to mount above the cigar lighter on 70 through 72 240 Z's, does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? Better yet, anyone have a spare one they're willing to sell? I'll pay the shipping! Any information would be appreciated.

Does anyone out there have pictures of an original 240Z with a tan interior? I'd like this to help me when recovering the seats of my '73 model. I think I remember one of the original 240Z sales brochures having a car with a tan interior..?

I have a 73 240z and was wondering if any one knew if the car came originaly with the diamond shaped vinyl around the transmission tunnel, or was it carpet like mine? I've seen the diamond shaped ones around the tunnel and think it looks better but would like to know whats factory. Thanks again

Ok, not a true gut because i still drive this beast every day but I'll keep the dash (with major components within it intact) and both factory seats. Ive already dropped the front bumper and entire A/C components, so I was jus wondering (if anyone has ever weighed this stuff) how much more is dropped from removing all the plastic interior panels and carpet, jute, etc.? this is for a '81 280zx by the way.....a model that needs a diet more than most...
