I had a pair of old seats in my 260z that I'm replacing with what I think is a pair of OEM 260z seats that were removed after minimal use. They lack the vent holes so I'm not sure if they are in fact OEM. Can anyone tell me if the 260s' seats came without vent holes? The more important issue is that the driver seat has a few separations in the vinyl fabric. These are not rips but I'm concerned that they may turn into rips because the vinyl is so old. Should I take the seat somewhere to get reinforcement for this spot? I'm assuming I can switch driver and passenger seats to even out the wear and that may help. Jeff

First 3 pics - This is my current interior. 4th pic: What I think a restored interior would look like. 5th pic: Two seat cover options on eBay, add in New seat foams from California Datsun, etc. But, what's considered properly restored? Take the seats I have to an upholstery shop and have them match the console cover? It is faded. I think I would be better off to get the seats sorted out first, then look for someone to dye/color the rest of the interior red to match. Also have to sort out a redo of the door and window quarter panels.

Howdy, I was playing with cleaning up my steering wheel, and when I removed it, I noticed that there was no screws going from the horn insulator to the steering wheel. There was a spring under the insulator, and the horn works, so I am wondering if the two screws are needed? I assume it is correct that the spring goes under the insulator then the washer and then the nut? i IF I need to replace those screws, what is the size? I looked at the reproduction part that motorsport has, it has the two screws, spring and insulator. If you screw the insulator to the wheel, does it still have spring feel to it? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks Bo…

I'm in the process of putting my 260's interior back together with seats I purchased from someone that said that they came out of a 260. The rear bolts line up but the seats have a tab that tilts down at 60 degrees in the front that doesn't line up with anything. I'm likely going to just bend a steel bar and drill a couple of holes in it to make it fit. Is there a part missing or is this just a variation in seat design?

I'm taking my car's interior back to the way it was in 1974. It was update to red shag carpeting in the early 1980's. The carpet was installed wall to wall, or actually sill to sill. That being the case, when I installed the new carpet, I have a bare transmission hump, 1/2 wall behind the seats, and along the sills. I know I can purchase pre-cut vinyl or leather to recover these areas, but due to my combination of wanting to do as much as I can myself and being short on cash (I'm furloughed), I'd like to DIY if possible. It seems that all that is needed is some upholstery vinyl at $20 per yard or am I missing something? Jeff

Found an old 77 on a lot and it has this interior that I cant quite seem to figure out. The pattern was on the doors and the center console. I wanna say that I saw one similar on 'Barn find Hunter' or whatever on You Tube. Also- what about this rear bumper?

Ok gang, I need a hand identifying an un-marked radio. The ID tag is missing and buttons are un-marked with AM or FM. The wiring, antenna switch, case style etc sure look like a Z radio. Thoughts? Make model Year range? Any one want it? At least for the RF Choke and fuse assembly?

I have a 1973 240z that the seat belts has been removed, previous owner took them out to install padding and carpets which he glued them down. I do not want to pull up the carpet to locate the bolt holes, can anybody provide me with pics of your seat belts locations where that are bolted in? The pockets for the seat belt retractors are also padded and carpeted over, I do not have any of the belts or retractors, planning on purchasing all new belts assy. Any help will be appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what years and model Zs this plastic trim panel is compatible with? I had the piece listed for a 260z and 280z but was told it doesn’t fit a 260z. Thoughts?

This is for anyone interested. I'm in process of getting both doors working ship-shape, and I learned yesterday that putting washers between the door and the lower bolt of the front window guide rail (the metal piece that the big plastic slider on the window glass holder rides in) does wonders to realign the window. I was having just about every problem possible; window was cocking forward as it rolled up, window would stick on a roller and jolt as it moved up or down, window would just flat out jam in mid-travel, window would be angled way out and miss the chrome door sash completely, the works. By experimenting with different groups of washers placed between that fron…

I have the https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic08a02b/40-4525 and I put the headliner in just fine but I don’t get how to put in the pillar and roof rail parts. The vinyl sections seem overly wide. Does anyone have this kit and do and I need to trim it down? I also am not sure where or if I should be tucking it into something. I am also just guessing I should first glue down the padding then glue the vinyl to the padding. Any pictures would be great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
