Slowly dismantling this resurrection project that has been sitting 19 years and getting considerable rust. Aiming toward media blasting or dipping way down the road in this long term project. The rear upholstery is in great condition except for some fiber board backing that appears to have gotten wet on the side interior panels. The fenderwell covers and strut covers seemed to be attached with some type of adhesive. Any helpful tips on removal or are there some clips holding them on? All the vinyl is in great shape and a good cleaning would have them looking almost as good as new if and when we get to the reassembly process. I do not want to damage them in the removal pro…

THe shop that installed the Vintage Air Gen II mini evaporator kit and Sanden 508 Compressor removed these Defrost Vents from my Dash! Was this really necessary? Were these Defrost Vent Duct connected internally to the heater box and fasten to the dashboard top? Any problem on having left these vents out of the dash??? Please note the heater box was removed so the evaporator could fit.

What is the correct procedure of removing the center console on a 1972 240z? Should i just first remove the shift knob, the boot and the 4 screws that hold it to the transmission tunnel? I dont have to remove the heater control panel to accomplish this? I believe the choke light cable was not connected to the choke lever when the choke lever bracket was installed. Need to check! Anyone?

Hei Guys, To get some more comfort when driving i am considering to get leather seats in my car, so far i have found these two alternatives: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic08f03/40-2700 https://www.interior-innovations.com/index.php/welcome/product_detail/41 (same as Ridiescom on Ebay? ) Does any of you have an experience with one or both of the above ? Should i go for new molded foam inserts as well ? Best Regards Terje

Well I decided to redo the manifold on the Z, but at the same time I want to go ahead and give the interior a fresh lease on life. I have been toying with the idea of going with a silver outside but with a RED interior treatment. I will not be changing the headliner, or the A pillars. This is my plan All Vinyl on seats Red/Burgundy All Vinyl on tunnel and cargo area Red/Burgundy All plastic bits in the back of the car, Red/Burgundy Carpet, black Headliner, Black A pillars, Black Question is can I get a burgundy vinyl versus a bright red. I will probably go ahead and put some POR on the floorboard and some NVH mat of come kind while I am at it. May polish my …

Recently purchased a project car and beginning the dismantling process and have started in the rear hatch, rear seat area. Definitely considerable rust but have some questions on removing the plastic rivets that hold some of the panels in place. Any trick to the plastic rivets? I just did the rear panel covering the tail light section and used a small pair of side cutters to snip off the rivet heads. Any easier process? All the panels are in good shape and do not want to damage them. Also the rear strut covers. How are those removed properly? The strut towers look great from the outside looking past the rear wheels but really want to see what they look like under the upho…

Went to check my AC installation today at the shop and found out the guys dented/ Punctured the upper side of the dashboard. They told me not to worry cause they would put some epoxy and when dried spray it with black. I do not think this is the solution. They should have been really carefull when pulling the dashboard out before installing the Evaporator Kit. Is there any posible way of fixing this dents and cracks or should i just purchase a whole NOS dashboard? Anyone?

I am looking to find a better option to my rigid center vent in my Z to better direct air from AC towards the driver. Has anyone come up with a newer modified option that fits in the center vent area but allows you to direct the air any direction? I am assuming that you could replace the rigid (directionally set) vent with something from another vehicle that fits in there and can be pointed towards driver and/or passenger. Any ideas?

I've been wanting to do this for years. I finally got around to it. Finished product They were a little bigger that I would have liked but they were black. I got them at Harbor Freight. Made brackets out of aluminum and painted them black. I guess I could have dusted them off:) I cut the hooks out of the webbing. I cut the hooks themselves as I have an iron worker that will do that kind of thing. I left the loops in the webbing. I then used a soldering iron to burn holes through the strap. If you really wanted to get crazy you could slip a pin through the loop to keep it from pulling out but I really don't think you need it…
