In Wick Humble's How to restore your Datsun Z car, he mentions that there were hard board covers that went on top and around the sides of the rear shock towers before the vinyl went on. He also says the early cars didn't have them and mine certainly doesn't. Having a hard time picturing what they would look like, does anyone have a pic of these things. Thanks, Chris

I'm interested in buying a new glove box. My interior looks so good now, that I would hate to open the glove box and have someone see that torn up mess. Can they be installed without disassembling a bunch of dash components? It woul be very cool if it just slides in from the front. Can someone give me the steps invovled?

i'm in the process of repairing my seat from a 72 240z. i was going to replace the foam and covers but when i got them out and had a closer look i changed my mind. the basic problem was the strapping had failed. the passenger seat looks new with no rips or wear. my friend who is in the classic car restoration business has already got it repaired. the problem now is the driver seat. it's ripped on the seat cushon and torn by the leaver for the back release. i called some seat cover vendors but they won't split up a set. can't really blame them. i'm hoping a fellow member might have a spare driver cover to sell. even just the bottom will help. is there a difference between…

I am looking for the clip that holds the cable for the air intake box door to the side of the air intake box (i.e. box attached to blower housing). I have an early 74 260z but I believe all S30 air intake boxes are the same from Aug. 73 onwards. Thanks

Can someone suggest a source for the hazard sticker I have on my 5/72 dash? All that I've seen don't say "HAZARD", just ON/OFF. Thanks, Dave IZCC#508

Show us your seats I have tried to keep my car as era correct as possible - but now I need a little comfort and support with my seats - I'm really tired of going around the twistys and twisting all over my 39 year old seats (newly re-foamed and upholstered). They look great, but that is about all. It's time for an upgrade! Please show us your seats - what brand they are - why you like them/how they sit - if they came out of another car please list the car and year that they came out of in case somebody likes them they can know what to pick and pull. Also let us know what they are finished with. Let us also know how difficult it was to install - custom bracket to attac…

I have searched this site and others as well as my repair manuals but I haven't been able to find and diagrams of the venting for the 260z. When I bought mine, the venting was all undone and the previous owner gave all of them to me in a bag and I would like to reattach it. Is there anyone that happens to have or know where to get the diagrams to help me?

I have been doing some research on units to purchase and install into my 260z when I get my interior redone in the next month and I was wondering if anyone has had this done, verses installing full seats from different cars, of if anyone has done any DIY projects and installed anything like this. I love the idea of keeping the stock look but I want to add features, upgrades and items that are great but kind of undercover.

Those with stock 1977/1978 280z hatch area, how easy it is for you to access your hidden/secret/weed compartment (the two behind the seats in the hatch floor)? My Z hatch area is stock, which has the wooden floor boards under the carpet. The floor board over the spare wheel is liftable, and is attached to the board covering the hidden compartments by hinges. The board that is covering the hidden compartments are bolted down onto the hatch floor. It seems for me to access the hidden compartments, I would have to remove the entire carpet, then unbolt the entire wooden floor board. This doesn't sound very practical, unless I'm doing something wrong. Thx.

I have a 71 240Z. Most cars have something (cowboard, etc.) under the headliner. My headliner was glued directly to the metal. That is the way it was supposed to be glued isn't it? It took alot of heat. I want to put insulation (fatmat, etc.) under headliner. What adhesive do I use between insulation and headliner? Really good adhesive. Thanks alot
