I am looking for a set of chrome screws from the Luggage Bar, behind the seats of a coupe. There are five of these dudes and of course mine are somewhere where I cannot find them. I really want to stick to OEM parts rather than making a trip to the hardware store for some make-do stainless. If you can help me out, please PM me. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone make 'new' door glass for the 77 280Z? I have checked MSA, Black Dragon, and Courtesy Nissan to no avail. I see them on ebay used (not terribly priced, at around 100) and at ZCarSource (i used to love them back in the 90's but now they are so overpriced for used parts it's laughable. They want over 200 for used) I would love new but will get used. A recent monsoon here in PHX shattered mine via a tree limb. Thanks everyone.

Can anyone describe or show me where the antena toggle switch mounts on a series one 240z? Mine was hanging from the wires just above the gas pedal when I got the car. Thanks, Chris

Last weekend my buddy Mike (Pop's Z) stopped over to help me install the MSA A pillar trims and windshield header trim in my '71. It is definitely a 2 person job. We found it best to have one person inside the car to pull & stretch the vinyl and the other person outside the car to pull & fold the vinyl along the outside edge of the window weld flange and door weld flanges. Fastening the vinyl to the inside weld flange with the pinch moulding takes a little practice. After a few initial tries, we got the hang of it and committed ourselves by spraying the foam and the vinyl with adhesive. Wick Humble's book on Z car restoration does a good job of describing the…

I am looking for a dash cover (carpeted type) to protect my current crack free dash from the Sun when I have my 73' 240Z out and about. I don't want to install it permanently but simply use it when the car is out in the bright light. Any idea where I can purchase one ?

I recently acquired a 1977 280z from the grandson of the original owner. It is an Arizona car and lived there its whole life. It was bought originally in 1977 at Thoroughbred Datsun (now Nissan) and came with quite a few dealer options, this interior being one of them. Has anyone seen anything like this in a Z car? I will be posting full pics of the car soon. I am a new member on here, any info would be great. Thanks

Wondering if anyone else has found these problems with the '73 cap (not the same as those for the earlier Zs): 1. Glovebox opening narrower than door across the top couple of inches. I measured, and it's about 1/4 inch. No way you can close the door without mods to the opening. 2. Hazard light switch hole too close to the lighter hole above. Hole needs to be enlarged, most likely eliminating the left wall of the hole, where it wraps around the inset in the dash. Measured with caliper, there's about 3/16" difference, centers on cap vs. dash. 3. Driver side air vent (round) opening too close to tach. For this, it may be possible to heat and warp the 3/8" wall of the opening…

Anyone know of a source for a trip odometer cable for a '77 Z? No mention of it in MSA or VB. I haven't pulled the speedo to verify, but I'm guessing the tip of the cable is broken. When I turn the reset knob I can feel the cable moving, but the trip odo doesn't change. Thanks, Bob

My 280Z does not have that little lever on the picture. Can anybody tell me what it was for?

I pulled apart my driver side seat a few weekends ago and discovered the sheet metal that makes up the seat back was cracked in several places. Judging by the wear on the seat cover a previous owner had the seat reclined and it was hitting the edge of the package tray rail. The metal is 22ga or 24ga, very thin stuff! I tried welding it back together after watching several videos on Youtube but even with my Hobart 150 on its lowest setting, using CO2/Argon mix, and a copper heat sink behind it I am still blowing holes through it. Has anyone else run in to this when recovering their seats? If so what did you do to fix it? At this point if I can't weld it back together…

I'm not too happy with the original style luggage straps, especially since you can only get them used on eBay, so I'd like to make up a couple new ones, with metal buckles and longer, adjustable straps. Has anyone done this before? You can get metal or heavy plastic quick-release buckles at army surplus stores. Plastic buckles and straps are readily available at crafts, hardware, surplus, or sewing stores. The strap ends should probably be sewn by an upholsterer. The length you'd have to decide on the length yourself, but they would be adjustable anyway. Would plastic buckles work, as long as you use the straps to hold down "luggage?" You might even use buckles fro…

What does 1977 280z shift knob look like? (original) Is it made of wood or wrapped in black leather? Anyone have a photo of a stock one? All the knobs I've seen are different from each other, so I can't tell what it originally suppose to look like. Thanks!
