The radio in my Z doesn't work. I need to replace it (I'm considering the RetroRadio unit) but before I commit to a radio, what I really want to do is get rid of the face plate that is currently installed in the console and replace it with something that's in good shape. The face plate that is in there now looks like it has seen many radios over the decades. There isn't much left to it anymore. I'll post a picture tonight. I've looked for NOS and reproduction face plates but have come-up empty. Does anyone know of a source or have a good solution?

Jan 71 240z I am ready to put the tools back. Does anyone have a description or photo of what goes where and how? Here is a stock photo of the parts borrowed from this web site. It seems to be missing a bag and chock.... and what does the rubber belt device hold down. I ensured all of the welded fittings behind the passenger seat remained exposed.

Hello, I took my air vent assembly apart (under the dash on the passenger side) a while back expecting that I would be putting it back together very soon. More and more time went by and I'm just now getting back to it. Despite my efforts to label my parts well and keep everything in order, I have lost my sense of how it goes back together. I have a number of small pieces, to include a small spring looking piece. Does anyone one know of a diagram that shows how these pieces go together? Again, this is under the dash on the passenger side, up against the firewall. The assembly should open and close the door to allow or cut off air flow. Thank you!!

The rods to the door locks rattle when the door closes. I think I will run some plastic washer hose over the rods to absorb the banging. Any other suggestions?

Hey Guys...I bought a pair of seat covers to replace my badly beat-up originals (white interior), and got some covers that appear to be something closer to light tan than white. The seller has a no refund policy. Supposedly these covers were made by the same outfit that made the covers for the Nissan 240Z restoration program. I had heard that the repop covers weren't correct, but I'm amazed at how far off these covers really are. Attached are a couple of photos of the covers next to an off-white towel (don't have any bright white towels), and on carpet that is a very light tan (note the covers blend in very well with light tan). Has anyone been able to source correct "whi…

Some photos of the Precision Weather Stripping for the Door. There are steel "U" ribs in the stripping that pinch the pinch weld. When you cut the stripping with a knife, try to cut between the "U" pieces. Here is a side view with some of the side rubber shaved to expose the chain of U clips.

I recently started to remake the interior in my 72 and for some reason my doors wont lock. When i slam the door shut ( this is in both doors) and try to lock it (window open) pressing plug, it wont go down. I tried to adjust strikers but it just messed my door alignment. I dont have dovetails I tried also moving that round thing on the door (forgive my idiocy) in to different positions but it didnt make any difference. Halp!

Hey so the threading on my shift knob was kaputt when I got the car and the PO had driven a screw threw the side to hold it on the shift rod. (don't know the proper terminology) Anyhow does anyone know what size threading the shift rod uses at top where the shift knob screws on (for a 77 280Z)? The knob itself is fine so I'm thinking I'll just screw an insert into the old hole with the correct thread and it'll be better then new. Thanks!

I am installing a full dash cover on a 240 Z and was wondering if anyone has some pointers. For example, the cover gets in the way of the glove box opening and closing. What to do? Greg Ira
