What length wheel studs is everybody running? Heck for that matter what size? I've seen reference to non-Nissan sizes too. After swapping the stock steel wheels for 16x7 Panasports I am concerned that the studs aren't long enough. I'm temporarily using open ended lug nuts and when tightened I'm only getting about 8 threads of contact. I've read that it should be more like 10 to 12. Also, I'm trying to get into SCCA Solo 2 and I really don't feel that this stud/lug combo is the safest route. So anyway, I'm going to order studs and nuts just as soon as I get some input from my friends here at the best damn Z site on the internet!

Hi guys! I bought the correct brake wheel cylinders for the "family" 240z(dad`s and mine, my mom and my wife are sick of car stuff!). I also got the 7/8 inch master cylinder and 7.5 inch(or 8 inch?) brake booster from some NON-specialist autoparts mail order store(think it was autoparts warehouse). Everything about the m/c is correct except when i tried to attach the master cylinder to the brake booster the m/c only went in so far until it made contact with the m/c Pushrod on the booster. So there is a 10mm space between the part of the m/c that is suppose to fit flush with the booster housing. I might have been sent the wrong part(booster and/or master cylinder??). Othe…

My '70 has standard brakes. When stopping normally there is no pull. When I get on them aggressively, they pull significantly to the left. Question: Do you think it a caliper problem or a proportioning valve problem or some other demon. Swapping pads left/right and right/left keeps the problem to the left, so it's not a pad problem. Any thoughts? Thanks, Frank

I've read on a lot of threads on this site about different wheel and tire combinations, regarding spacers and backspacing. My question is has anyone used these wheels http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-Sportmax-Nissan-240SX-rims-Staggered-S13-S14-wheels_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43957QQihZ018QQitemZ280186694258 they say they're for 240sx's so they have the right bolt pattern but are +35mm offset. I know they wouldn't fit a stock Z, but mine has molded on fender flares (about the same size as ZG's) and the fenders cut out. If I could use these with 35mm spacers (or whatever size spacer that would be needed) that would be a much cheaper alternative to custom 3 piece whee…

I finally gave up on finding performance rubber to fit 14" rims and upgraded to 16x7 panasports. Here's a picture if any of you are considering it. I couldn't find any good shots prior to placing the order so I was a bit nervous. In the end they turned out more grey than I expected but I'm still happy. Anyone need a set of Enki 92 14x7 rims?

hey all , here is another of one of many projects that a re-fresh takes . I sanded out the powder coat and re newed the wheel paint using dupli-color rattle can in the '' HWP graphite . Stuff sprayed on very nice , no runs at all . 3 coats later and new wheels on the cheap . Now to go get them balanced and then the center caps polished and soon to go back on the car , and a quick note to the purist's, they are shelby vipers , not the coveted AR"s as I'm sure you all have noticed . Not a nick or rash to be found on these though so I'm happy with the end result . Zee ya later Chris

I'm curious what people have done when changing their wheels? What did you do when going from 14" stock wheels to 15" wheels? I'd like to save a buck or two if I can so I'm looking at options. Right now I see my only option is getting five 15" tires and wheels and storing the 14" wheels including spare and replacing the spare with a 15" also. Can you easily get a 15" "generic" as in "cheap" wheel for the new 15" spare so you don't have to sink lots of money into a nice looking wheel that you don't see? What did you do?

Does anyone out there have an idea where I can purchase a set of 18" wheels that will bolt on my 260Z without requiring spacers. I would prefer to run 18x7.5 up front and 18x9.5 to 11 in the rear. Every wheel I have found that fits my needs are 3 piece and expensive. I don't have a problem with 3 piece wheels I just don't want to pay the price. I am even willing to go 17" if the look/price is right. I just need a nice fat wheel/tire in the rear with a deep lip.

First off I have a '72. I just finished replacing the rear wheel bearings, both sides and two bearings per side. Having also replaced the large inside nuts with new OEM nuts and torqued to the recommended 200 lbs. it's just a little disconcerning that if one of these nuts works loose the whole wheel and hub seperates from the car. :surprised The bearings had been replaced before, by a PO, so the original peened nuts had been removed and a newer nuts used. This is how I found it before replacing with the current bearings and nuts. Should I be concerned about the current set-up or am i missing something? Seems like a castle nut with a cotter pin would be more appropia…

The wheels lips have minor curbage and despite what "friends" think of them, I love them and I think they're the crowning jewel for the resto of my 240.....sx:cheeky: I was thinking of mounting them and spinning them while the sand paper and or steel wool remained stationary, in an effort to make'em shine. Opinions? Wheels Car
