Hey, I really like my 280zx wheels on my 74 260z, but I also like the wide rear end look of the ZG. would it make sense to get spacers to push the rear wheels out enough to look good with ZG flares, or is this like an oxymoron?

running 225/50s.....will they rub the wheel well/fender of a 240z with a Tokico HP spring and strut setup? I've run through the calcs and measured the clearance from the springs to the front fender lip. I measured 10.5 inches. With 3-3/8 backspace that means I have 9.5/2 = 4.75 + (4.75 - 3.375) = 5.125" in the front. I am running 14x7 0 offset wheels now, which means I have 4 inches backspace and front. The wheels would be 1.125 inches further out than my current wheel. It looks like it will be tight in the front. I am not worried about the valence at this time. The rears are another matter though. I am not concerned if they stick out a little bit at this time. I just nee…

I'm looking to get new rims. How does a 16x8.5 rim ride compared to a 15x8.5 rim on a 240z. Car has coilovers and flares so clearance is not a problem..

Ok, I put my D hubcaps on today and they look great. Picture coming. Anyway, the valve stems barely poke out through the hubcap. There's no way I'm going to be able to get a hose on there to put air in the tire. For some reason, I seem to recall that when I had my original 72 Z it came with an extender you could screw onto the stem. Am I dreaming this? The valve stem is 1 1/4 inches long. Is there a longer one? Any suggestions? Bob

Firstly the car feels like its bottoming out the suspension on tiny bumps in the road. The previous owner decided to cut the springs Would it be more cost effective to find used stock springs or get some sort of after market spring? The car has a 327 SBC so its a bit heavier on the front end. What would you recommend? Secondly, at freeway speeds it has a nasty shimmy that is bad enough that I avoid the freeway. What could cause this? Bent wheel? crappy cut springs? Bad alignment? Thirdly, Will a 16x7.5 +22, 16x8.5 +37 set of wheels fit underneath the fenders? I have ZGs that came with the car, along with holes in my rear quarters Thanks for your time, Jake Im all…

Ok, so working on the brakes last night we got a lot done. New SS brake lines, repacked the hub, new rotors and while I was installing the Calipers I forgot which way they go in. Is the bleed nipple on top, or is it on the bottom? Also, I am having an issue hooking up the brake lines. The small "S" shaped brake line from the caliper to the mount on the strut, I can not get it to fit up to the new calipers. It is too short if the nipple is on the bottom and it is too long and the caliper piston is in the way if the nipple is up top. Is there something certain that can replace this "S" shaped brake line?

Hi everyone! I finally got a pair of REAR wheel cylinders, but just noticed afterwards that it was sized 13/16 inch against the correct and LARGER 7/8 inch! now, i'm not an engineer or anything but i do know that using SMALLER Rear wheel cylinders will weaken the rear brakes and thus affect the front/rear brake bias. being that my only choice is to order from abroad (more time and money) i'd like to ask your feedback on how this would affect the CONTROL and POWER of my brakes/car during everyday driving (of course occasionally i'd like to stretch my cars legs a bit, even on the twisties! ) thanks a lot! patz p.s. can you recommend a website for more…

Hello all! This is my first post. I dont own a Z car but will be occasionally driving my dad`s 240Z(not sure if its a 72 or a 73) and will help with basic maintenance. So, being that i`m in the philippines its not easy to get parts(even good used ones) so we usually have to order from abroad , or, SUBSTITUTE other parts. I cant totally trust aftermarket suppliers here, so i gotta ask what other DATSUNS use the same REAR wheel cylinders as the 240Z? Oh, its a U.S. version car. Thanks in advance! Patrick

Howdy folks, I have a 09/71 built 240Z ('71 model). I just received new rotors but they don't fit. The "hat" height is different. I used a tape measure and got the following measurements. The new rotors have a hat height of ~1.25". The old rotors have a hat height of ~1.5". I did have some old rotors around from a parts car that look like they match the new rotors. In fact on the spares it looks like the hub is thicker and the rotor hat is more narrow. So the net result looks the same, using eyeball only. I am sure they came from a first generation Z but not sure what year or 240, 260 or 280. I really don't want to use the hubs attached to these spares because th…

Hi guys, I need some advice on what to do with my break booster issues. I have std z32 300zx rear discs and calipers and R32 GTR front discs and calipers and I need to sort out a brake booster master cylinder system that will work with those calipers and (hopefully) fit right onto my 240k Skyline C110 1973. You can see the original booster fitted to the 240k was a joke and I swear it took power away from the brakes instead of giving it. I've been informed that I could use a 240Z booster and a vertical mounting holes 280zx master cylinder 15/16ths ratio and that this would be a direct bolt on system that will work fine with the calipers. Does any one know if this will w…
