Well I am finally putting this car back together after several months and I am a little confused with the rear brakes. Please look at my pics and tell me what I am doing wrong. This is the passenger side of a 71 . I thought the rear shoe slid between the emergency brake lever and the whell cylinder but it hits against the adjuster lever. What am I doing wrong here? I wish I had a memory:stupid:

Are there any detailed write-ups on installing front and rear wheel bearings? I have been putting this off for awhile because frankly i am a little intimidated for some reason.

I have looked through the archives, and if the answer is there, it eludes me. Question: What is the best way to store good used brake cylinders and calipers? I have some perfectly good, very lightly used calipers, braided steel hoses and rear wheel cylinders off of a '72 240Z. They must be put into storage for a while, and I am wondering if there are any tips out there that will help me find them in good condition when I get back to needing them. They were used with DOT-3 fluid. My concern is that the DOT-3 remaining in/on them will draw moisture and leave me with a nasty mess of corrosion and rotten rubber if I just "put them on the shelf" for a year. Any suggestions …

I have the Toyota 4x4 Calipers non-vented. Going to use the calipers that came with them, and when they are worn I am going to upgrade to some really nice ones. Though, to the rotors. Powerslot Slotted rotors for $174 or OEM for some $70 Looks are not an issue, cant see them with my 19 spokes. I live in windy areas, and might do tracks every now and then if I get in a club but it is going to be a daily driver, so mostly school and work.

Heh I found a cool website for tire sizes! Type in the stock size tires, compare them to what you have on and then compare those to the rim and tire size you'd like to have I found that the 205/40/17 rims I''ve been wanting are appearently too big. Well give it a check, heres the weblink http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit Tire Size Calculator ~Z~

Since I just replaced my stock rims with Westerns, I figured I would clean up my old (once shiny) "Iron Crosses." I have accumulated a variety of cleaning supplies for various uses, and thought I would document several of the cleaners I have. Here is what I have found: In the first 4 photos I used Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound. It did a good job, but did require a bit of scrubbing. The next photo show DuPont's Teflon Wheel Cleaner. It did nothing on the nasty accumulation but get it wet, and wash off some of the loose stuff. The last photos show a promising contender for the "most versatile cleaner" award- Stoner's Invisible Glass! Note the inside of the rim- the pa…

Here are my new wheels and tires. Sport Max Racing 002 15x8 225/50/15 zero offset No rubbing on the front valance but a 60 series probably would. 1/4 inch or less from tire to shock perch but no rubbing. Thanks to matt300zxt for the wheel info. I was worried about the gunmetal centers but I think there is plenty of silver so it isnt too dark. I really like them. Plenty of dish/lip. Modern with a bit of old school.

The front reservoir went empty. I refilled the reservoir, bled the reservoir & wheels; the light still won't go out. How do I reset the light? This is on a '77 280z. Thanks for any help out there. Ron

Have been concentrating on improving my brakes and have a slight problem. I have a '72 and did the Toyota front caliper brake switch a few years ago and never really found the switch to improve all that much. Within the last month have switched to stainless steel brake lines and changed out the brake vac. Both sets of parts came from MSA. I have bleed the brake lines two times since with Dot 4 brake fluid. The rears are stock. Now the problem is that before the master vac switch I had only moderate brakes and now although the braking is improved, when I apply the brakes I have the front right tire locking up and the car pulls to the right. Other three tires don't loc…
