I am new to the z club... I am trying to learn as much as possible about my Z I want to buy new tires for my Z but am confused about size. I have 14 in old school slotted mags that came with the car (but are not on the car). I want a sporty look and wider than the 75s I have currently with the original wheels and hubcaps. I have heard that 60 series make the car soft... Any suggestions on the perfect tire size? Thanks

are there differences in the brake lines between a 12/72 production date 73 model and an 5/73 production date? I'm trying to switch the braided SS brake hoses onto the 12/72 and they don't want to seal on the car side

I took one wheel cover, removed the center and stripped all the paint off. It is a very nice chrome underneath. They might look good this way. Anyone seen them on a car all chrome like this? The masking off is what took the most time. I went and masked off ALL of the dished areas, the rest was masked as original. My thinking is, there is no break line on the inner edge of the dish, so leave it and the bottom tang (?) chrome. See if it adds a little more chrome to the lower portion of the soon to be 115 blue, black tires, dark rims, or if it seems a bit too much chrome. I used Dupli-Color Wheel Coating WP-102 Graphite. This # was taken down some time ago as closes…

I finally got the chance to install the stainless braided brake hoses on all four wheels of my car, and now I have brakes! The old rubber hoses were weak, so they were bulging a little, and there was just a bit of leaking. Braking was slow, and probably took double the distance at highway speeds. After the install, I tried the brakes in an open place, and I'm glad I had on my shoulder belt, because I almost hit my head on the steering wheel!. Hopefully, I'll never have to use the improved brakes on the road, but at least I know I can stop MUCH more quickly if I need to. I put on a new PCV valve too, and the engine & transmission ar much happier now too.

Hi I would like to have a set of konig wheels on my 240z, may be in 14" or 15". Anybody knows someone that sells them at good price? I read in some "old" posts before that, there was a company that sold them 55 USD per wheel! Does anyone knows if that still available? Another question that I have is what`s the size of the original tires on the 240z! It is 175/70/R14 or 175/80/R14? Thank You Filipe Azvedo

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a 240Z front brake rotor and a 280Z rotor? I'm wondering if my '72 has been swapped to the 280Z rotor, but I'm not sure how to check. Thanks...Robert

I dont know if this is in the right section please dont flame me if it isnt. I am trying to get rid of my spare collapsable tire and the can of compressed air it comes with. I dont know if they are from 1977 but they sure as hell look that way . Tire has not been tested but i guess if someone wanted to buy it i could test it. I saw one of these for a ZX going for about 100 dollars a while back. But if anyone wants it make a reasonable offer and we can work something out. Again if this is in the wrong section sorry for that feel free to move it or instruct me to the proper section.

What are people doing to polish the various hard lines like fuel & brake lines? I've just been clamping the tube in a vise and sanding & polishing it lengthwise. First some 800 then 1000 grit sand paper, then fine steel wool and then some metal polish. thxZ

Anyone have any secret recipes for cleaning up aluminum brake drums (outside of drum) on my 280z ? Splash of diluted lemon juice, maybe some taco sauce or do I just paint em silver? - what has worked for you? Thanks in advance for you input.

So i ordered new brake cylinders for my 4/72 240Z from Black Dragon and when i opened the left brake cylinder it had a big R inscribed in it. I was under the impression that the left would be labled with a L. THe box was labled with the right order though. Is this a mistake?? Or do they not give ones with an L anymore?

I have a 74 260 with a bad brake booster and Autozone does not sell one for it. Is there a different year or model that will be a direct bolt in alternative. Thanks Greg
