Helllo all, I just reciently purchased a 1978 Dastun 280Z 2+2 and I was thinking about upgrading my wheels. I want to put on 17" x 7" rims w/ 215/40/17. Would that fit on my car without an mods? If not, what size can go to (16" x 7")? Don't want to modify anything right now, just want to throw them on.

Hey, I was hoping that you could help me here. About a month ago my power assist on my brakes went out. I switched it along with my master cylinder and everything seemed to work fine for a while. Now after about 30 minutes of riding around, the front breaks seem to lock up. I can still drive, but it takes alot more power to shift gears because the front breaks are engaging all the time. This only happens periodically and it only happens when the break pedal gets really stiff. After I park it for a bit, perhaps 20 minutes or so, the pedal relaxes and so do the front breaks. This is intermittent at best and only happens every few times that I take her out for a spin…

89 Toyota 4x4 calipers are $102 on autozone. Only cost $40 after the core sell back. Now, if I order these do I have to worry that I got the right ones? Are there more then 1 type? Also, will autozone take back the calipers from a 240z as the core return?

I recently replaced my rear end with another r180, and now I am hearing a weird click noise coming from what seems to me to be the right rear tire area. I don't believe it to be a u-joint or differential mount problem because when I did the swap, I replaced the differential mount, and used the halfshafts that came with the new r180 differential. I jacked the car up, and tried to see if there was any slop in the halfshaft u-joints, and I didn't notice any. I made sure everything was bolted snugly, so I really have no idea what the sound could be. I have a feeling that it could be bad wheel bearings on the right side. When I had the car on jackstands and I was replacin…

Does anyone have a good source for McGard lug nut kits? I've had a set on order for 4 weeks with Summit now and they keep moving the ship date out. I'm hoping to find someone who has the 65454GD in stock. This is the Gold spline drive kit with locks. I'm willing to pay a bit more than Summit's $77.95 to get them in my hands at this point. Here's a pic of what I'm after: . .

Anybody else had a hard time finding long shank lug nuts for the standard 114.3x4? I wanted to put a set of classic aluminium slots on my Z and I tried Discount Tire, waited two months and nothing. Now I've ordered a set from Tire Barn and the said two weeks. It has been three. I'm almost to the point of giving up on the rims and buying new ones.

There is currently a group buy for Rota RB wheels taking place at Hybridz.org site. These wheels look like Wats, but for a 1/3 of the price $750 shipped to your house. The sizes are 17x8.5 and 17x9.5 any offset. A total of 25 buyers needed for this price. I know that it is impossible to get a set of wheels this wide for this price. Alex

I have a 10/70 car and are the brackets on the struts that hold the front brake lines supposed to be different passenger/driver? On the passenger side it is the vertical bracket, but on the driver side, its the same bracket, only laying down, horizontally. Is this normal? Also, how the hell do you get the brake lines off? I almost twisted the small pipe that goes into the caliper!

Ok, I've replaced the wheel cylinders, put good working calipers up front, replaced the master cylinder, put on steel braided brake hoses, bled the car (240Z) three times now. Seems to be a good flow of fluid with no air bubbles, etc., etc., etc. The brake pedal still feels soft. I know the brakes are working because when you hold the pedal down I can't turn the discs or drums. I know it's been a while since I've driven a Z but I don't remember the pedal being that soft. What I'm I missing?

I am replacing my stock '77 280Z front calipers and can not get the damn bolts broke loose. I have socked them with penetrating oil but I guess I need to let them soak longer. Short of a hacksaw and a blow torch any suggestions on how I can loosen them. Thanks. 280Z on its way to being a daily driver
