I was wondering if the two screws on the top rear was what held the rear drum in place. If so how do you get around the brake line to remove the second screw. If anyone has any pics or links that would be great.

Hi all, I replaced my master cylinder and rubber hoses with ss stl hose. I already bled the system. I did not touch the drum nor the calipers. The question I have is how do I open up the caliper to loosen it up? The caliper is grabbing the rotor too tight. thanks

posted a question over on hybridz looking for pad replacement options for the toyota 4x4 caliper upgrade. from what i gather, porterfields seem to be the best available setup specifically for those calipers. HOWEVER, i did get this reply: "you can use pads from a Nissan 180SX or 200SX with very little mods all so the pads from a WRX will fit so you can get Performance pads to suit and they will go into Hilux 4x4 caliber" can anyone confirm/deny this? this opens up a whole new world of performance if this is true....

Does anyone know where I can find a new or NOS brake master cylinder for my 78 2+2? I've searched the web, and the forums, but couldn't find anything. Also would a 79 zx one work on my 78 z? Any help is appreciated.

I had my brakes redone about 6 months ago. Same shop that has always done my brakes. My right front started squealing about a month ago and it was driving me nuts. I had another set of brake pads in the garage so I decided to have them put on. They were a high quality metallic racing pad. I got to tell you it really made the problem much worse. Both sides squeal now. I also notice the rotors develop surface rust overnight. It is parked inside always and the weather has been dry. Is that normal? I am thinking of getting some OEM Datsun pads and trying that. Possibly replacing the rotors as well. I have had this particular car for 5 years and this has never been a pro…

Has anyone ever seen center caps such as these? They came with the wheels (photo) on my '71 Z when I bought it. Any idea what they might be? My appraiser suggest American Racing but wasn't sure. I haven't pulled the wheels off yet to check their brand (being a little lazy I guess). Any thoughts are appreciated.

After a 6 week wait I've finally got my new 17" ROH wheels. 8.5 inch -6 for the front and 9.5 inch -19 at rear to be mounted with 225 front and 255 at rear. Looking forward to picking up the freshly painted ZG flares this coming week to fit that rubber under. Hopefully they'll be on the car by next week! Sulio www.viczcar.com
