Thought I'd post some pictures of my recent wheel refurbishment. I bought the aerosol wheel paint from Les Cannaday - www.classicdatsun.com For the black centercap area, I used an SEM product - "Colorcoat Flexible Coating" - Landau Black #15013. I sprayed small amounts of this color into a clean 8 oz. cup and brushed it onto the centercap with a #4 hobby paint brush. The centercap color match was spot on to my eye. First photo is a before picture, with spokes somewhat faded and center black area flecked off in places Second photo is of refurbished wheel. Third photo is the SEM Landau Black product. Gary S.

I'm hoping I can get some help here...I'm kinda out of it when it comes to this stuff..don't quite have a full understanding, so before I get new wheels or some old school mesh rims preferably...I have stock hubs and the factory manual says ( disc wheel dimensions are 14 x 1-1/2 J with 15mm (0.59 in) offset and hub bolt pitch diameter is 114.3 (4.5 in) I'm looking at a set that is 4 x 3.93 or 4 x 100 bolt pattern and I assume these are no good... I have also read on the net the most of the old school mesh wheels of clearance problems( spacers need?), and also I've seen them for sale saying 0 offset will fit 70- 78 Datsun... if the manual says 15mm offset how can th…

Is there a way to adjust the ebrake so that you do not have to pull the handle up all the way?? In my 73 240z, I have to pull the e-brake as far as it can go before the parking brake is in the least bit usefull, and still at that point, the wheels don't lock up so I absolutely have to leave the car in gear.

What do you guys think. Here are the rims and what they car looks like now,. New ones are 15x7 with 10mm offset. old are 15x8 with 0 or negative offset, they stick out far so could even be a neg offset

what size wheels and tires are you running? I've been thinking about doing the ZG flare look, and it's obvious I'm gonna need custom wheels.... really not sure where to look, don't even know what size I'll need... I just know I'd like 17 inch wheels... thanks

My 280Z has the 6-spoke ZX wheels on it. Do you think I can put the wheels back on after removing the drums, so I can get the drums blasted & painted? I think it should be fine, since the studs will only be 10mm longer and the car is not going anywhere until Spring. I don't have any regular lug nuts; only the ones for the ZX wheels. thx

I recently purchased the Toyota vented 4 x 4 caliper kit from Ross at Modern Motor Sports. I finished installing the MM vented rotor 4 x 4 kit and the brakes are awesome! The pedal is high, firm and modulates well after properly adjusting the booster push rod and taking some slack out of the brake pedal travel. The car hauls down confidently at every stop. Here is what I did: -New (remanufactured) Toyota calipers from a local dealer: $117.00 ea. I clear coated the calipers preserving the clean looking castings. -1979 280zx MC (bench bled) with the booster push rod adjusted to 10mm past the aluminum spacer. -Recent rebuild of rear drum breaks with MSA shoes (look like K…
