I’m looking at buying a set of hayashi racing wheels, the specs are 15x7 +4 with 205/50 tires. Maybe someone has experience with this spec and could tell me if they will fit without spacers. The suspension on the car is all stock currently, so the top of the fender isn’t a worry, just if they’ll rub on the struts or something like that. Thanks!

The title about says it all, but I'll put a little more detail here. A few things first: the car's a '71 240z, I've only owned her for about two weeks now, and I've put about 200 miles on her so far (mostly driven in the day time). Today I noticed that the emergency brake light on the speedometer comes on when I fully press down the brakes. The key word here is fully as it only comes on when the brake pedal can go no further. Now, I've only seen the light when I'm in neutral (whether it's because I'm at a complete stop, or in the middle of downshifting). It might be able to come on when I'm in gear, but I haven't tried this yet since I'd rather not lock up the brakes…

Thoughts on a 205/55 on a 15x7 wheel with car lowered about 1"? I think that would be a sweet spot. Current offerings from Tire Rack are Kumho Ectsa, Dunlop Direzza, Yokohama Advan. What are experiences with any of these?

Have replaced all rear brake components and now seem to get squealing from rear brake shoes. Any suggestions on a cure? Seem to be able to hear it right before you come to a stop.

For those of you who have replaced your 240Z soft/flexible brake lines this question is for you! I'm replacing with braided stainless lines and was asked for the length. On the rear this is easy enough as I can just measure the original ones, unless someone has a reason to get a different length. On the front however it seems this is a little different...I've replaced the stock calipers with the Toyota 4-piston ones and from my understanding the new brake line should run from the connection point on the body directly to the new caliper, soooooo how long should this be? Is there any real benefit to having swivel ends on the lines and if so where (i.e…

Does anyone have a picture showing the proper position of the leading and trailing rear brake shoes for a 1972 240Z.

From everything I've researched if I keep the rear drum brakes stock and upgrade the front to the Toyota 4-piston calipers then I should also upgrade the master cylinder to the 15/16 one from a 280ZX. Question #1, is this accurate? When upgrading the master cylinder to the 15/16 one it seems that this is a direct bolt in upgrade. One thing I have found is talk about the master vac (booster) also being something that some people upgrade. Issue with this is that as I understand it the 280ZX (10") will not fit due to the clutch master cylinder (at least without some modification/fab work). I have also learned that there are TWO different sizes that came in th…

78 280Z Background....about a year ago I completely disassembled everything in my engine bay so I could repaint the bay, refurbish all the engine compartment components and then reinstall it all. I'm finished up with it all now...the last remaining task before getting the Z back on the road is bleeding all four brakes. Video Player is loading. Play Video Play Unmute Current Time …

I have an early 1971 240Z with a stock suspension and American Racing 14"x7" mesh wheels. I am presently running 195/70R14 Goodyear Eagle tires that have aged out (30 years!) and need replacement. The Goodyears have a slightly smaller diameter than the original Toyo 175HR14 tires so the revs are higher than originally intended (inaccurate speedo as well). I'd like to go to a slightly larger tire to "correct" the speedo and reduce the revs when cruising. A 205/70R14 would fit the bill except that I've heard that with early cars they may rub when making turns. I don't want to do any body mods as I'd like to keep the car body stock. Does anyone have experience with the…

On the new to us 350z there are aluminum lug nuts. I really don't have great feelings about that. Does anyone out there have experience with aluminum lug nuts? Are they DOT approved? Are they safe? Thanks, C
