I know there are many brake options, and i mean many you have your corvette, 4x4, 240sx, etc. but one I dont see any of it, but yet have seen done, was FD rx-7 brake upgrade, I would assume fab'd brackets. anyone have any info on this, if so, Ill take home that FD front clip thats laying around still with hubs and brakes on it.

what are you guys doing for updated wheels? 14" is simply a non-starter for me. I'll be switching to at least a 16x8, but probably 17". i've heard these have the same pattern as a couple early fords but not sure i want to throw alot of brake and sticky tires on those small four bolts. anybody got anything 'better'? the car will be exclusively a track car so i need some serious fastening to keep the wheel attatched to the car.

anybody run into bearing problems when running a wider wheel than stock? i'll be going with about the same back space but 1-2" wider than factory. a little additional wear would be acceptable, i just don't want to eat bearings every track event.

Ok... I was talking to a couple of friends and we all decided the gold centers of the car wheels look really dated.... And than we all decided that the wheels would look better painted black... Hence the question... what's the best way to prep the gold center portion for paint??? Clean and degrease with Simply Green?? or ??? Also should I powder coat them, or will spry painting them be good enough?? Thanks for the opinions, and advice....

I was able to get ahold of a set of the original ultra light racing wheels Datsun used on the 240Z when racing them back in the early 70s. Actually saw the in a picture in a manual from that era. I am having a hard time finding the shank type 12x1.25 lug nuts for them. They aree kinda like the old Crager mags with the round washer. Can I use the acorn style or does anyone know where i can order these from?

I have someone who wants to buy my wheels, but I have no clue how much they're worth. They are like THESE, except they are chrome, not black. They are not in perfect shape, but they look ok. They also have tires with only a couple k miles on them. Any idea what I should ask? Thanks Matt

Well, I'm at the point now where I'm ready to clean and rebuild my brake calipers. Unfortunately I have already removed them from the car as well as the rear wheel cylinders and I can't get the damn pistons to come out? Is there a trick to doing his when they are off the car?

Saw these Superior wheels on Ebay and seemed like a good deal for someone. Don't these usually go for about $200.00 each? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheels-for-Datsun-240-260-280-Z-Cars_W0QQitemZ8056893852QQcategoryZ43955QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I've got some 60 series summito 205's for autocrossing. However, I'd like something a bit more comfortable for my daily driving. I am thinking some 75 profile Kumhos. The higher profile to get me a bit more off the ground and give me some flex to reduce ride harshness. I'm entirely stock with KYBs and with some ZX wheels. What would be the widest I can go without rubbing? I see 195/70 listed. I am thinking maybe a 75 might have to be a bit smaller. What's yall's experiences? Other suggestions. Go ahead and flame me and tell me to buy a Buick if you want. DON

For those of you that upgraded your rear drums to discs using Modern Motorsports's rear disc upgrade package, what did you use up front if you replaced or upgraded the front rotors and calipers? I beleive the rear upgrade kit uses Brembo 11.4" rotors. The stock rotors on the 78 up front are 10.75". I'd like to use the same size rotor up front as in back so everything 'looks' the same through the wheels when looking at the car from the side...Any suggestions? 78 280Z
