I know this was discussed in another thread, but I cannot find it now. If you run newer alloy wheels and the wheel studs don't come out through to surface of the wheel nuts, how many turns of thread is safe for a street car that see's some spirited driving. The wheel nuts i have are deeper than the stock ones. Basically, I'm lazy and don't want to pull the rear stub axles to install longer studs. But if it comes to it, I may just have to. But this takes the car off the road for a short period and it might get attacked by the WIAI virus. This could be a problem for a car that I drive to work every day. Cheers Scott

well my brake booster is definitely bad since the master cyclinder leaked into it for 10 years (before i owned it). So i was looking for prices on replacement units and i ran into a problem. autozone, napa, rockauto, oreillys all list a 7" and a 8.5" unit for the '73. I looked in my msa catalog and they listed a different unit for every couple of years and the VB catalog had 70-78 all lumped together. (rockauto has 8.5 and 10 listed for 77)So i am a little confused on what unit i need. i am now sitting here at work far away from my vb, msa, and service manual and no one on the forum seems to have discussed booster sizes before. i found a brief post on someone saying…

For all of you with the stock size wheel (14") on your Z: have you had any trouble getting tires? I had to replace one with a broken belt last month, and wanting to get one the same as the rest, I went to the Tire Kingdom store I had purchased them from originally. It took 9 days to get one tire in, and the salesman said they were getting hard to come by, as they are not making 14's as much anymore. Any one hear anything like this?

Hello all, I have a bit of a problem. I need to find out what wheel types these wheels are as I only have three of the wire hubcaps and the 'A' wheelcaps. I really like the look they give and plan to re-chrome them all and have the acutal rims painted to match the car, Nissan paint code 305 Light Metalic Blue. If you know what type they are let me know. Then if possiable I would like to locate another wire hubcap and 'A' Wheelcap or just go ahead and replace the 'A' wheel caps with some Z logo ones. Thanks for the help.

Hey guys, I have a nice set of "D" hub caps listed on Ebay and wanted to get your opinions on them. My teenage son and I originally intented to put this set (our best set or "A" set) on our '71, but decided to put them up for auction and use our "B" set instead since we need more money for our two Z restorations. How do the pics look to you guys? Do you think we will get a good price for them? Here's the link, please tell me what you think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240Z-240-Z-Hub-Caps-Hubcaps-Wheel-Covers_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33744QQitemZ8029687551QQrdZ1

Here is a before and after pic of one of the Libre's refinished for me by Mr. Torq Thrust, aka Terry Vaughan. I found the wheels on Craigslist on the east coast advertised with the following description: 4 14' American Racing torque thrust looking wheels, no rash $40 It took several email / phone calls to the seller to determine that these wheels were in fact 14' x 6' Libre's with a 4 bolt pattern. I agreed to purchase. Shipping, at $52, was more than the purchase price of the wheels! I found Terry Vaughan after doing a search for "Libre Wheels" on ebay. He emailed me the following link to his website: http://mysite.verizon.net/res1ksb2/ As evidenced by the a…

Here is an awesome set of Watanabe's for a great price with a very nice lip. Some one pick them up for their Z or Skyline! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-Watanabe-AE86-Corolla-510-Datsun-240z-4ag-L28-240sx_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43954QQitemZ8025279331QQrdZ1 -Ben p.s. I know that I have posted many threads like this before, but I really like these wheels and I am just trying to get people more interested in these classic wheels. I would love to see more of them on Z's. p.p.s. Hopefully, my set of Watanabe's will be on my car soon. My front wheels are 14 X 7j type B (+8mm).

For sale - Set of (4) Turbine style wheels. 14 x 7 Two of the wheels have minor curb rash on the outer edges. Spaces between turbine "blades" have been painted black (not sure if this was original or not). With no tires, these wheels look huge in width! Will accomodate a 235 series tire! I have three of the center caps for these wheels. $125, obo. I would prefer local pick up in San Antonio, Tx, but can arrange shipping. Shipment by Greyhound bus should be about $80, but I will have to confirm that.

Hey everyone.... Spent the better part of yesterday working on the undercarriage, with about an hour devoted to getting the ^%$& e-brake system removed. For the life of me I can't get these two spring clips off to allow the cable to come free. It's a little too narrow to get leverage from the side, and too high to get an angle from above. Naturally, Humble's book and the FSM don't mention any tips--has anyone run ito this? Any tips? Something obvious I've missed? Thanks, Steve
