I don't know how old the brake pads on my car are (the car stops fine and no squeeling...yet), just wanted to know if you should get your rotors surfaced before you install new pads. Thanks.

Has anyone had any experience with either one of these tires. I'm considering purchasing one or the other for my 240Z. I'm looking at 205/65/15 for running on Panasport 15x7 wheels.. thanks

I have driven and enjoyed my reliable 72 z for many years since I bought her many years ago (still full stock). About the same time of purchase I replaced the original oil filled shocks with KYB gas units, I replaced the second set of Bridgestone with Potenza in 2001. Now, I have a new set of shoes far better than Bridgestone for my stock Z. It maybe a shame for some of you but they are BF Goodrich on the original steel rims. They are very comfortable and not distorted as the Potenza when new. My question is: -Rotation never done in 43k -Front tires were worned even in front and still good. -Rear tires were worned more inward (why I made the decision to replace the enti…

Can anyone help me with the spacer details that is needed to use the Toyota S1W brake calipers with the '84-85 300ZX NA, vented front brake rotors? I am looking for dimensions to mill my own spacers. If anyone has spacers in Oregon/Washington, that I can measure, I'd find some way to thank you. Your help will be appreciated.

the two containers of brake fluid on the master cylinder were mounted like this when i baught the car for it previous owner, i noticed in the owners manual that they should by one in each others place!? is that correct? if yes then is it a problem letting them as they are or they will not give good pressure for the calippers? coz i think that the square shaped container should give more pressure to teh fornt calipper due to the more oil it has in it which should be mounted in the back.. plz help me thanx in deposit

As you know from my last post, I'm doing work to my front end. I was just flipping throughmy FSM just to refresh my memory on a couple things and one thing I saw in the FSM under reinstallation of front brake pads they say to apply "Pad Grease" to working portions of caliper and both sides of anti-squeel shims. My question is about the "Pad Grease" Is this some sort of special grease for the brake components only or can any light coating of multipurpose grease be used? Thanks in advance.

Obviously the heat shield between the exhaust manifold and the brake's Master Cylinder is there to keep the heat down, but how long could you go without the heat shield? I don't spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, so I figure there's always air going by to keep the temperature down. thx

I dont have mine here with me there at work so: lugnuts, I dont remember seeing the hole taper to let a lugnut slide in and grab, do they tighten to the outside of the rim? I forgot, my lugnuts set wide of the rim and would have scratched if I mounted, I found my old wheel lock would have contacted the very inside edge so is that the way they mount, the lugnut not going in the hole of the rim at all, sratching the outside when torqued down? Also anyone know the torque for the wheels? Thanks
