History: Few years back had to slam on the brake after that lost the booster. Replaced the booster with an aftermarket rebuilt one. The push rod was too long that I had to shorten it to get the master on. Brakes worked great but one thing. They would gradually lock up the front brakes to the point of the engine stalling. The pedal was ferm with no movement. I lost the reaction disk in the booster with all the adjustments of the push rod and never continued the cause of the locking brakes. Now with no firm pedal feeling I went and purchased two master cylinders and still had no firm pedal but the front brakes were locking up. Left it like this till now. Last weeks project…

Hi, I am wondering if the US 280z came out standard with wider than 5" width rims? If they did I am after info to give to my engineer to warrant going to a 7" width rim. In New South Wales , Australia, we can only increase the rim width legally by 1.5" if the car is after 1973 and under 1200kg. So I am trying to find info on the later s30 280z, or if there was a turbo s30 that had wider rims than 5" . My car is a 1974 260z.

Where in Australia can I get some longer wheel studs for my 240Z? I will ring around in the morning, but if I can get a head start from here it would be helpful. Also, I realise I will have to separate the front hubs and discs to replace the studs, but can I replace the rears without pulling the stub axles out? I'm still running the stock rear drums. I don't want to pull the stub alxes, but if I have to, I have to. Thanks for the help Scott

Does anyone know how thick the reaction disk in a 71 240 should be? I pulled out the push rod and the disk fell down into the power booster. Instead of taking the boster out and fishing around for the disk, I thought I would just replace it. I have some 1" rubber washers that I am using. The washers are about 1/16th each and I am stacking them where the reaction disk goes until I get the proper thickness. The haynes manual drawing does not seem to be to scale.

On a 78 280Z, Are there any other caps that will fit the brake Master Cylinder? Mine are rusting from the heat & rain. Mine also have the wiring for the brake light, but I'm not sure I'll worry about that right now. thx

I was thinking of going with the classic 5 slot aluminum rims from back in the day. Real wide though. Any special place you guys know of that will have the right size and bolt pattern or just keep browsing through Ebay? When I say wide I mean real wide. Flares and everything. I want my Z to squat and look mean

Hi guys, What is the difference between 2 piece and 3 piece wheels. I know with the 3 piece wheel you can exchange the two shells (inner/outer) to get different widths. Can a 2 piece wheels have its shells interchange for different widths also? Regards, Ari

Hello Is someone out there who owns a copy of the RHD version of the Nissan parts book please able to let me know the part numbers of the brake master vac hoses, both of them. Im interested in the very first lot of part numbers, ie "E" series as my car is a 71. The LHD parts book shows them as 47471-E4601 Hose - Master Vac Master Vac Side 47474-E4600 Hose - Master Vac Engine Side Im not sure if there was any variance in part numbers for the RHD spec cars, but as the one on the engine side is a different shape I suspect there may be. Thanks for any reply/information. Regards Joseph Gauci

Just picked these up 2nd hand. 16x7's Just need a set of adapters now to make then fit. I just propped it in place to see how it looks. Not too over the top for the look of the car I think. Can't wait to get them on there, but I'll have to fix the brakes first.
