I replaced my whole brake system (calipers, wheel cylinders booster and master cylinder) and now I have no breaks. When I apply the beaks the peddle goes all the way to the floor and barely function. I have bled the system more time than I care to remember. I have searched and read that sometimes the reaction disk in the booster falls out so today I took the old unit in and got another and still no beaks. When I replaced all the beaks components I up grade to the 280zx master, as someday I would like to do the Toyota four piston calipers swap. What I wonder is would the master cylinder be the problem because I’m still running the stock 240z calipers? Any idea would be g…

Anyone know where i could get a set of (i think) 280zx wheel nuts in Australia, I have a set of 280zx factory mags - kinda look like a snow-flake from memory, they have a weird nut, they have a mushroom head and sink into the mag............

My new KONIG 15x7 rims with COOPER COBRA RADIAL G/T 225-50-15. I had placed an order with MSA $630 shipped but the rims are on backorder and they have a long list of buyers and could give me no ship date. I cancelled the order and ordered them from TYLER ggtyler@yahoo.com $545 shipped. They are silver with polished lip and they look great..... A few thoughts..... They came without lug nuts so I got them at my tire shop, standard 12x1.25m. The KONIG supplied center caps will not fit the front dust cover so I had a set of larger caps with the Z center that I had for my 72 240Z and with some grinding they fit...DAMN. The front tires rubbed on my MSA type 3 air dam so w…

Curious about the 300zx Brakes & Toyota Calipers front brake upgrade for 240-260z's, I know you have to use a special spacer that sits between the rotor and hub, but......... Does anyone know of companies/people that sell this spacer in Australia?

I'm in the process of colour matching my wheels at the moment[front and back are different], and have been having a hard time trying to find the exact colour and finish I want. Basically I want a factory colour 'magnet' 'watanabe - magnet' or whatever the colour is on ericB's wheels http://www.davescholz.com/public/webgallery/pages/themoneyshot.html The above samples seem to be a satiny, matt finish with a very dark bronze. The current colour of my wat's at the moment are an interesting dark grey/bronze but I believe they have been painted over by previous owners. I can either go for sandblasting and powder coating, or just painting. The closest powdercoating colour I …

I've been reading a lot of threads about wheel sizes, offsets, tire sizes etc. I'm no engineer (maybe someone out there is and can shed some light on this issue), but isn't the matter of safety and stress on the hub a question of where the centerline of the wheel is and not whether the wheel has negative or positive offset? For example: If I choose to go with a 17" X 7" wheel that has a +40mm offset but space it out 40mm, isn't the centerline of the wheel effectively at zero offset? As a result, aren't the stresses located at the same point as with a zero offset wheel? I can understand that if you take a zero offset wheel and space it out 40mm, you will be moving the cent…

Ouch! I need to have my disks machined but I thought I'd check out the cost of replacing the whole rotor assembly (disk/hub) while I'm at it. The price from Repco in Western Australia is an eye-watering $203 each! I've replaced Holden disk rotors for about $30ea so this seems a little OTT to me... Can anyone suggest an alternative - one that doesn't require new calipers, or any special engineering work? Thanks, Hayden.

http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2005-05-22-ford-tires_x.htm?csp=24&RM_Exclude=Juno Ford Warns Customers about Tires By Jeff Plungis, The Detroit News WASHINGTON — Ford Motor Co. has become the first U.S. automaker to warn customers that they should replace older tires, even if their treads are not worn out. Ford officials said the move comes in response to a growing body of research that suggests that tires deteriorate as they age and can experience tread separations and other failures, even if they look robust. "Tires degrade over time, even when they are not being used," Ford's warning reads. "It is recommended that tires generally be replaced after six yea…

Just a few questions about brake setups, I've heard that Valiant CL-CM Single Piston Calipers bolt straight on to the 240-260z Datsun Strut, Anyone know if this is true? If it is, what rotor do you use? Also, Anyone know if RX-7 series iv/v Calipers are a straight bolt-on to the Zed strut?
