JSK spacer

Hello, I am in the process of assembling the front hubs and have a question. With the spacer in place, I can no longer center the rotor on the hub and there is no centering lip on the spacer, is it going to be a problem? There is a very small amount of play before I tighten the bolts. If the rotor is off center just a hair... I did not what this to cause a vibration or something worse. The JSK web site is down so no help there. For those that have done this upgrade, have you run into any problems? Thanks, Skip Early 260Z

I am installing 4-wheel disc brakes and a ZX 15/16 M/C. I have done the brake line switch, F/R. Here is my concern... I am concerned that the rod receiver hole is 1/4" deeper in the master cylinder than my stock 7/8" M/C. Has anyone done this switch and had problems with this additional rod length? Do I need a longer rod out of the booster to make up the difference in the depth of the rod in the M/C? I have a different booster rod from a ZX. Can I use that rod with my later model M/C and the '71 240 booster? I have done the search but no one speaks about this particular problem.

I was thinking of purchasing some Amercian Racing Wheels and was wondering if anyone had a photo of them on a 240z. I looked through the gallery and didn't see any. Thanks, Greg I thinking of the Outlaw series. Like this. http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/details.asp?wheelid=7&name=Outlaw%20I&style=61&desc=1-piece%20alloy,%20clear%20coated§ion=A

Being a former Boy Scout, it's hard to really do it but I'm thinking of just leaving out the spare and jack on my Z. I plan to use it for weekend trips and maybe some autocross. The spare would barely get by in a pinch and it's extra weight taking up extra space. Do most of you keep the spare or just leave it out?

Just curious if any rim that will fit on a 510 will also fit a 240Z.

on my 72 240,when I push the brake pedal, the rpm's drop to about 450 and car is hard to stop(as in manual braking)and also have to keep foot on gas to keep from stalling. My assumption is that brake booster diaphragm is bad. Any help is greatly appreciated

s12-8 calipers 4 pots (non vented) DO fit over standard 4.5 and 5 inch datsun steel wheels with no spacers. Just a bit of info for those who might want to fit the larger calipers on their cars but still retain the possibility of putting the standard wheels and hubcaps on for shows etc. I could find no info on this before and ended up buying a secondhand set and trying them on my car. Hope it helps Andrew

Has anyone every gone to hydro boost brakes? I did this in my 67 Bronco and they are great brakes, less effort than any power booster will ever produce. I am pretty sure that there would be enough room to do this conversion just curious. You would have to have a power steering pump added and you could use a donor hydro booster off a 76-78 Lincoln or there are plenty in Astro vans and other Ford vehicles. I don't know maybe most Z owners would think this is sacrilege or maybe not? Blackjack

Ive noticed a couple of times in the past a brake light coming on. Then, it stopped. I figured it had something to do with my replacing the rear brakes. Anyway, it started again (right about the time I said I wasnt having any Z troubles......). In fact, when I pulled into a parking lot the pedal went to the floor, (I began frantically pumping)the Z slid several feet on the dirt, before touching the wall (had to do some funky steering there....but at least it was just the bumper). Im beginning to think the Master Cylinder is going out, as I had similiar troubles in another car. Anyway, if Im off base, please steer me right. If on target, how can I check for sure?…
