Loaded S12-8 Toyota calipers on ebay, thought someone might be looking for some. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7930751518&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT Just bought mine at O'Reilly Auto Parts for $100 for the pair, loaded (plus cores if I hadn't had some which I did).

Hi All - I know that this topic has definitely been discussed, I just can't find any references. I have a '70 240Z, 4 spd, still going through the entire car fixing all the stuff the PO 'customized' (as in the front and rear wiring harnesses, but that's a topic for another section of this site). For a car that I found out after the fact had spent the past 15 years being started up only occasionally, it drives well (thanks to patient me, a great carb remanufacturer in FL, and lots of duct tape), but the brakes are LOUD, no matter the speed, nor how long or short the drive (the brakes work, thankfully). It's actually kind of embarrassing. The brakes are 'supposedly' new (as…

i have replaced all of my brake lines.. pheeww!!! next step, to bleed them. I bought a "one man bleeder kit" from autozone and hooked it up, pumped on the brake pedal and nothing happened. replaced the master vac rubber hose that goes to the engine.. still nothing happens. I have a 71 240 and the rear reservoir on the mastercylinder goes up and down when i pump but nothing bleeds nothing happens. i am going to try out using 2 people for the job tomorow, but before then.. tell me what could be wrong. could it be bad master cylinder? how do i know? bad master vac? dunno?>

I'am looking at buying some beautiful rs8 wantabe(spelling?) 16 X 7 wheels but i dont know if they will fit. The seller says that they are off a skyline and he had them on a silvia(both 114.3 hubs).. looking at the rs8 japan website, that would make them +35 offset(or there abouts) with means they wouldnt fit my 240z.. is that right?? Any info, advise would be great!!

Hello all , I just picked up a second addition to our home a very nice 71 240z from one of our members , the prob is the brake pedal is very hard when pressure is applied just like when the brake booster has gone bad but it doesn't raise the idle like one of my past z 's did when the booster went bad. Could it still be the booster or maybe the checkvalve? Any suggestions would be great , thank you

well i am not sure what needs to happen here. but in order to take the old rubber brake lines off i need to unscrew some nuts correct? well the ones connecting to the rubber lines are rusted tight. tried using WD 40, i sprayed it on 4 times on each and am letting it sit overnight.. but if that doesnt let these things get lose, is there an alternative method? such as replacing the connecting section of brake pipe also? i rounded one nut already. so help out.

Hi all, Well, as it approaches Winter here in NY- i am planning my upgrades to do during the Z-hibernation. Brakes is the plan. Toyota calipers on the front, SS lines, and new rotors since mine are warped/thin. (Wayne Karnes diatribe on rear disks talked me out of that-for now..) I don't want to use spacers, so am opting to use stock rotors (this is my 260) rather than switch to the 300 rotors. So.... I have found "Powerslot Cross-drilled Rotors" for $51.99US each at www.brakewarehouse.com (as opposed to $199/set at MSA) Does anyone here use them, had them, liked them, hated them, etc??? I know i could get stock replacements cheaper, but i want the most "bang for the bu…

The clevis pins in my 1/70 build date 240 are worn to the point that I can feel the difference in the pedals as the pins roll (changing the pedal slack). These are the pins that go through the clevis yoke and pedal "arms" under the dash. Microfiche says the brake pin was used through 3/70 and the clutch pin was used through 4/70. However, the pedal assemblys were both used through at least 8/71 so any changes in the pin diameter would not have occured until at least 8/71, if ever; only design changes such as the type of retainer. My problem is finding new ones to replace the old ones. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Just rung up Nissan to get a price for some 280zx wheel nuts to put the 6 spoke wheels on the 240Z. I am 4 short. Price from Nissan was $22.50. Not too bad considering, until it realised that this was PER NUT!!!!!! Unbelievable. That makes $90 per corner!!! I've tried the local shops, but they don't have the correct size, so looks like second hand is the go. Anyone on the Gold Coast, or in Brisbane have a few spare? Even one? :stupid:

Been looking for some new tires, and everyone local wants my left lug nuts for Toyos. Found 1010tires.com and they had good prices so I thought I would try em. 5 days later UPS comes knocking on the door. . .
