I have a set of 215/45R17 tires mounted on RH C2 wheels for my 94 Accord. They have a 40mm backspacing. Will I need to get spacers this thick or will a 30mm set work on my 71 240Z? I'm asking because there's a set on Ebay that I would possibly bid on.

:surprised http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2489595288&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT I haven't shopped early hub caps lately..for NOS is this a "average" price? I may have to consider aftermarket mags for my projects. Hard to justify $1200 a car...HUBCAPS!! I did participate somewhat in the frenzy, but I hoped to find one to get the color "right". I have 3 straightcaps, but all paint except center have been removed. david

I am putting my engine bay back together and was wondering if someone could help me out? When I removed the breake servo (booster) before the restoration, it had a silicone seal that the previous owner had put on the firewall were it meets the booster. My question is do I need to apply a silicone seal or any type of seal to the backing of the booster were it meets the firewall when I reinstall it? Thanks Saro Fagerian

I've been researching different wheels to put on my 240Z (see gallery). I like the looks of the current wheels, but want to go with a light wheel package. My current Altstadt wheels (17"x 8" 35mm O.S. & 17"x 9" 35mm O.S.) weigh in at approximately 21 to 22 lbs each. The wheels i've been looking at are: Volk TE37, Volk SE37K, and Gram Light 57S (@ same sizing as current wheels). I would likely go with a bronze or gunmetal finish. As you know the first two choices would cost around $2000.00 for a set and the last choice about $1000.00............of course, the last is a cast wheel while the first two are forged. OK, I know the forged units are stronger!!! All three of…

While my husband gets his joys out of his 77 280Z the 72 240Z has been sitting for quite a while. It's parked in neutral with the e-brake on. Now when I go to move the car it tends to hesitate after releasing the e-brake. Do you think it's best to leave the car parked in neutral with the e-brake off and just put something behind/front of the tires. Also, is it true that it's not a good idea to leave any car in gear when it's parked for a while? Heard this can stress the tranny. Opinions, suggestions, comments. Vicky

Even after adjustment up and down, my e-brake light stays on all the time. Even after I took out the fuse. Any ideas? I can say after the adjustments, I would hear a click in the back brake area the first time I took the brake off and the light would go off, but everytime after that, it would stay on. NOTE: I did just redo the front brakes a few weeks ago, (new calipers, pads and shims), bled the whole system (just because) and pulled the drums off the ensure that everything was on the up and up back there. The fluid was a bit low this morning it the canister closer to the firewall, but still within the range, so I topped it off.

I know there has been a flurry of discussion about front brake conversions for early Z's but I have not seen a few details discussed. For example: 1. If you go with the 300ZX vented rotors and wider Toyota calipers, I know you need spacers for the hubs (~1/2" I understand). Does this mean the front wheels are now "pushed out" 1/2" wider? If so, what does that do to the steering geometry? Also, seems this would cause the lugs to have 1/2" less threads to hold which concerns me. Or did I miss something here? 2. Can the stock brake lines still be used? I've read that the answer is yes, but they have to be bent differently. I'm looking for feedback from someone who has…

What is the better caliper for rear disc conversions? Which is the cheapest? Also, what pads and hardware are needed? Thanks
