Hello all, I searched here and Hybrids, couldn't find what i was after, i'm wondering what the simplest rear disc upgrade is on a Z, is there such a thing as a bolt-on swap for something like a skyline or 280zx? . alternatively, what shoudl i be chasing down for the easiest swap, and what is involved in getting them on and working (including hand-brake) THanks in advance! Charles

What good does this do? Wouldn't the zinc plating wear off the first time you drive the car? Is it worth having or not really?

Looking at these tire sizes: Stock tire diameter = approx. 24.7" 205/50-17 (25.1") 215/45-17 (24.6") 225/45-17 (25.0") Looks like 215/45-17 would be best for me. I was just curious if anyone was running 225's (or wider), and if anyone had 17" wheels and wanted to share their tire size and experiences?

I'm looking for recommendations for the best ultra-performance tires folks have found out there. I have a 1972 240z with numerous performance upgrades, including 16x8 Panasport racing rims (4-3/4 backset). I'm looking at size 245/45ZR16. This is a weekend-only vehicle so these tires will be used exclusively in dry conditions as I will rarely if ever be driving the car in the rain or on wet roads. I'm strongly considering Michelin Pilot Sport, Dunlop SP Sport 9000, Bridgestone Potenza S-03, Goodyear Eagle F1, and Pirelli PZero. Thanks in advance for any ideas. J. Zorzy

I am trying to find what current tires are closest to the original 175-hr14's. I have the original rims with hubcaps. For originality purposes, would I be be with Bridgestones? Should I go to my local tire store and see whats on sale? Please advise. Thanks, Dan

I'm seriously thinking of putting these wheels on my bone stock '75 280z for two reasons. 1. I want to upsize my tire/wheel size. 2. Because they are a "race wheel" manufactured by Bassett, I feel reasonably assured that they can be balanced off the car. Currently the tires have to be balanced on the car to avoid shake. So...has anyone had experience with this wheel (or manufacturer)? Thanks, Rob web site:http://www.bassettwheel.com/dot.html

Ok, now I've been hanging out listening to people talk about going from the stock 14" up to 15", 16", 17" and even 18" wheels. What I want to know is how does this change the way the car drives? I have heard that changing the wheel size changes your gear ratio. How? Does this provide greater high end speed or what? Can someone please explain the effects of going to a larger wheel to me?

Can anyone tell me what the wheel lug size is for a '75 280z? I'm thinking about buying steel wheels (Bassett, Bart, etc.). I'd like to know the diameter, thread-per-inch, and length. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have a source for 10MMx1.25 replacement bolts for fastening the Maxima brackets to the rear hubs (14 MM longer than stock) or the bolts to fasten the 300ZX rotors to the hubs on my 280Z (need to be .375 longer due to spacer) All the local sources have a larger head size (not 14MM) or a flange and there isn't space for the larger heads. The only local source, Athens, GA, would not break a box. A source would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance, Ed Palmer/ecp48

Hi guys for the 240K people... do you know what's the max width of wheels I can fit on to my 240K coupe with no major modifications? I'm thinking of getting 18's with 40 or 45 series tyres and probably 225 - 235 wide. It comes up that the outer diametre is close to what I have right now which is 185/75/14 but not sure about the width need help guys thanks
