I heard a rumour recently: The mid-80's Maxima has the same rear hub and everything as the 1st gen Z and also rear disks. The obvious point of this rambling is there is a rear disk brake bracket that bolts onto the rear hub. Can anyone confirm this and if it is true: A. What disks are used? What is the 'offset'? Is it the ZX rear disk? Maxima only disk? 240SX disk? B. What caliper is used. What is the Wilwood equivalent? steve

Just bought a British mag called Retro Cars because it had an article on 240Z's in it. Elsewhere in the mag is an article on wheels - listing various PCD's of common cars. Along with the 240z, the MGB and Austin 1100 were also listed as 4x4.5". Does this mean I can source wheels from MGB's and Morris/Austin etc etc 1100's and they will be OK??

To achieve the same rolling diameter as the tyres originally fitted (175SR14) what size (would like a wider tyre) would I need to fit a 61/2x14 rim? Nick

I have a set of 14" Shelby Viper mag wheels with new Yokohama AVS tires mounted. I want to put PBR calipers on the front so they obviously won't fit. I really don't want to play the Ebay game. What are they worth? I need to get the center caps rechromed and the wheels need a little elbow grease but I think these are pretty rare.

Wondering if there are, if any, clearance issues with the 16X7 panasports? Planned tire size will be 215 40R16, and of course adjustable coil over suspension. Just want to make sure before is start purchasing components.

As you may or may not know, I'm currently turning my 240K into a Skyline GT-R replica. Anyways, I'm trying to get some Watanabes at the moment and I'm just having a hard time working out how wide I can go!? I've attached a couple of pictures to let you get the idea, and I was hoping some of you who have a bit of experience might be able to suggest the widest wheel that could fit under the flares. Thanks guys!!! As it stands now: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/data/3079/1243rearquarterlow_small-med.jpg Attached: Skyline with flares (picture thanks to Alan T)

I've an 83 280ZXT with stock sized Pilot Alpins, 205 60 15. I was thinking of going up to 215/225 50 16's, b/c there's absolutely NOTHING in a 15 that is ultra high performance NON all season. I am wondering if tires like Bridgestone S03 and Pilot Sport are too aggressive for my suspension, which I've been told is floaty and may rub if I don't change the stock shocks/springs (that info from Centerline). Anyways, why is there NOT ONE 15" ultra high performance tire for my car?!! Thanks John

Has anyone tried swapping 300zx hubs onto an older z, i mean, if it would work there would be a huge potential for upgrades, most noticebly using the grand turisimo brake kit for some huge brakes. just a thought

Has anyone used the MSA stainless steel brake hoses? Are you satisfied with the quality? Did they install easily and fit correctly? If there are any better (or cheaper) alternative hoses out there, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks, Marty
