Hi, I have goten almost all of the old parking brake cable off my 73' 240z and i finally got the propellershaft off too.. The part where i am stuck is the connectors that hold the parking brake cable to the car. there are 4 of them. 2 are next to both rear drums then theres 2 more up inside the tunnel area where the cable gets latched on by the y piece connector. I got the first 2 off next to the wheels but I can get the last 2 inside the tunnel. How do you do it? Is there a special way or tool that you have to use? I got the first 2 out with a screwdriver and a hammer. I cant use that up inside the tunnel.. any ideas would greatly help... I have a week to …

I have a 73 240z and the brakes are all locked up at 3 corners. I just need to be able to get this car on a trailer since the next owner is just going to use it for parts. Since the car doesn't free roll putting it on a trailer will be difficult it seems. Any ideas or suggestions? Is there a way i could free up the brakes by removeing pressure from the system or somthing?

just curious if anyone out there would have that info... these wheels were on a 1986 zx and didn't fit stock but did fit with one inch adapters.... now im selling them and someone with a 240z 1971 wants to know if they would fit .. and if those spacers would be needed? or whatever... educate me on this car!!! thanks for all yer knowledgable help

I first wanted to say that I love the look of your car. When I was growing up my dad built a lot of hot rods and most ended up in flat black. It makes cars look mean. My questions are about the wheel/tire/suspension set up you have on your car. I can see you have wanatabes, but what size front and back? What is the backspacing? What make and size tire are you running in the drifting pictures? Are the flares on your car the ZG Flares from MSA? If not who makes them? My last question is about your suspention. Well I've done things in my life that were pretty silly, and I thought I'd grown up a bit since then, but the little boy inside me has come to the top again. I need help from all the Aus members to find one Simmons F15 wheel. I bought three the other day from a bloke who was basically giving them away, $300. The blokes at work are calling me the three legged dog. A new wheel is $600 so if worst comes to worst I can get one but who wants to pay full price. Hi guys recently I've noticed a strange noise coming from the left hand rear of the car. (Passenger side on a HS30). It happens when I'm slowing down especially if I have to stop quickly. It's like a grinding noise and I suspect it's either the Universal joint(s) or the brake drum is so worn down it's now just grinding metal and therefore when i hit the brakes hard it uses the drum more and causes this sound. I have not had time to check it out because I've been having my exams at Uni and just driving the car. I was wondering if someone may help me. I found a 280 zt a wrecking yard near my house and like the wheels on it. I would like to buy them for my 240 but am not sure if they will fit. I believe the 280 is from 81-83 and it has a 4 lug pattern. I guess I am wondering which 280 wheels will fit on my 240? Thanx for help. Bart

i have the standard cookie cutter mags that are on alot of z's that i see and i would like to put rim caps on em. does anyone know who made these rims and if there are available caps. there the standard 4 spoke clover leaf type.:classic: oooooooohhhhhhh shiny toooo:stupid: thanks steve

Every period magazine article I have seen shows pictures of 240 and 260Zs with the factory wheel caps in place. None of my period pictures show the factory allow '4 spoke' wheels that I always attributed to 260Zs. So... were these wheels from a later model car? Were they an option on late 240s and 260s? Are they really 'standard' on any car? (Sorry, I can't find a pic. You all know the wheels I mean: 4 spoke, bright alloy with black insert, Z in the centre cap.... Any ideas?

More questions... I have heard of at least one Z using the 993 twin turbo brakes with the stock Porsche Brembo rotors. I have a very very good deal I can get on this set up (let me just say VERY GOOD DEAL again) and I need to know if it would work and if it would how hard would the install would be and what brake lines you would use on them. Thanks! -Jeff P.S.: I will be putting in 17" wheels soon so the rotor size (333mm) will not be a problem.
