I had some new tires put on my Minilite wheels yesterday and the tire store manager could not locate the right valve stems. Apparently the casting where the valve fits is quite thick, and the standard rubber or steel valves will not fit properly. So at the moment, the only thing holding the valve stems in place is air pressure. I plan on contacting the Minilite dealer in the US or the manufacturer in England today, but has anyone had this experience or have any ideas on where to locate the proper valve stem? Thanks, Victor.

I just bought 215/65 R14 tyres for my zed and the bloody things rub on the front guards when I turn right..but not when I turn left. I just had the front end re-bushed...could that have put the suspension geometry out of whack, causing one to rub and not the other? Are these tyres meant to be too big for a z? I wish these places would just CHECK that everything operates as it should BEFORE they take ur money . I can feel a fight on my hands....

I want a reasonable budget alternative to wanatabes wheels. EG Wheels with a low "et" I´ve heard about bbs, slot mags, wolfrace, compomotive ... etc.. What I wonder is what size wheels and rims i need to get the look the car has on the pic submitted in this msg. So if you´ve experience in fitting "phat" wheels on your 240z, pls answer back / Sincerely / L

What are the benefits of the 4-Runner brakes? Lot's of people have used them, but are they using them primarily for racing?, availability of parts?, safer?

I've noticed that Z's don't have much clearance in the rear for wide tyres. Maximum looks like 215's. Does this sound right? How do people overcome traction problems with high power Z's without chopping the chassis? Cheers

Can somebody please tell me the best place to get these rims in the states? And about how much they are if any one in the states has bought them? Looking for 15x7 I think... Are the rims that are on a 76z 14x6 or 14x7?... The tire size on my z now is 205/70/R14.......

Hi all, I have a set of 70's slotmags and stamped on them are these numbers 6.50 x 14 x 0.355 OUT. I am assuming 6.50 is the width of the rim in inches, 14 is the diameter of the rim in inches and I do not know what 0.355 out means?? Anyone know? If a set of 225/60/14 tyres can fit on a rim which is 6 inches wide then whats the maximum tyre width I can go for?? Also bearing in mind that I have the normal 240Z fenders with no extensions. Thanks..

Does anyone know where I can find the right rear nipple bleeder for a datsun 240z, without having to buy the whole cylinder. One of the previous owners broke mine off. I am betting thats where all the air is in my lines, and the reason for me having to pump my brakes. Let me know Frankenstein Z

Now, there are a whole lot of numbers on a wheel which mean different things - most of which I know already but there is a certain part of the specification that I don't understand. Hopefully one of you can help explaining this to me, and possibly some others here too. Each wheel has the following dimensions (please say if there are others too!): Stud number and pattern (e.g. 4/114.3) Diameter (e.g. 15") Width (e.g. 6") Offset (e.g. 25 degrees) What exactly is the "offset"? Why do different cars need different offsets? Do you need a different offset if you go for a wider or larger wheel? I'm just a little confused... Thank you
