I'm looking to replace the original rubber "grommets" that encircled the handbrake cable where the handbrake cable runs through the rubber "hangers". I've attached a couple of photos to help show the rubber part I'm looking for. Anybody have any good ideas on a replacement part for this?

For the life of me ,I can't figure an easy way to re attach this handbrake hardware back onto the end of the cable. The spring tension is too much to compress with my hands. I'm thinking i might need a special tool to compress the spring enough to install the end piece... I'm looking for some advice.

Hi all, I searched for this and couldn't find anything. I have a 72 240z that has all new brakes except for the booster and vacuum check valve. They have been working great, and still work great under normal use. The problem I am running into now is after tracking it for a few laps the booster starts failing, thankfully every time it has happened it was coming back from the pits so I knew it would be an issue and could take the track appropriately slow so it wasn't scary. If I pump prior pedal pressure is normal, if not I get the booster thud (no pedal pressure until the pedal is like 1" from the floor). As you may have seen in one of my other posts I made my own brake bo…

Both of my parking brake cable hangers are broken, allowing the cables to lay on the u-joints of the stub axles. Do any of you know a source for replacement parts or have a nice solution to replacing these? Thanks!

Good day everyone! On my Series 1 240Z, new to me. The smaller brake fluid reservoir is almost empty, ie...which I have read is for the disc brakes. Am I able just to fill that reservoir, with number 3 fluid, and then I am ready to go? The front, which I believe is for the drum brake, is full. thanks for the help! Tom

if anybody is interested I replaced my Michelin tires mxv4 size 205/60r15 with the new Continental tire true contact tour size 195/65r15 yesterday. it transformed my ride from a ruff stiff ride to a smooth glass like ride . well worth the change and no more feeling like I am in a go cart. the new continental tire is like 5 lbs a tire less in weight .

Looks like I have to bleed the brakes on my 1971. Before I tackle this project, I'm going to buy Speed Bleeders to install on the front calipers and rear drums. Here's a small write up about what I've found, in case others want to follow this path. Revolutionary double-patented Speed Bleeder replaces the original bleeder valve in your caliper/wheel cylinder with a spring-loaded one-way…

On the way to work this morning my brake booster failed, so drove back home and parked it. It's a '75 2+2, so it's the larger 10.5" brake booster. I will most likely either send mine out to boosterdeweyexchange.com or pick one up from Motorsports Auto. Any reason to pick one over the other? Is it possible to remove/replace the brake booster with out affecting/introducing air to the brake lines? The FSM is vague and searching online for a couple hours didn't give a clear answer. I do not have access to anywhere close by I can bleed brakes, so will have to farm out the work if that’s the case.

I have the 1982 280ZX rear disk conversion on my 1973 240Z. Been working great for years but now have a bad leak coming from the driver side caliper. Can't seem to find a replacement caliper. All parts places say it is out of stock. I can find the passenger side but not the driver side rear. Is the Maxima caliper the same as the 280ZX caliper? What other replacements will work in place of the 280ZX caliper? Or should I get a caliper rebuild kit for my caliper?

I'm resurrecting a '71 240z, and discovered that the can on my brake booster has significant rust issues on the lower rear exterior. In search of a replacement booster, I'm finding that the early ('70-'71) rebuilt/reconditioned options are not available. I ordered one from the local parts store, and although the photo in their system was identical to mine, there are differences in the piece the supplier sent. The store manager did some searching and found that the one in the photo is not available. I checked with a few other suppliers and ran into the same issue. My question is, will a '73 240z booster work in my car? The can shape and dimensions are the same as mine, the…

Did a brake upgrade on my 240z which included a 280zx master cylinder. The two side bleeders made the air filter cover not fit so we cut the ends off them and it fits now but scrapes still. Can I replace these with 7mm x 1 bolts so the clearance is better or does it require special plugs? Thanks.
