Discussions about different wheel & tire combinations and the affects on a Zcar.

timing is everything!! just when i get the cash for them, MSA no longer has a supplier for the screw-on center caps for the slotted mags and therefore they are subsequently NLA from them. i can find the "Z" emblems (thru VB, etc)for them but not the caps. i need the caps for the set of wheels i was going to be using after i cleaned them up, of course. since they are pre-drilled i can't use the push-ons. anybody know of another source for these? thanks in advance

17x7" Motegi MR8s with 225/45-17 Pirelli P7000s. Should also fit Hondas. Haven't measured the tread depth on the tires, but the wheels and tires are in great shape. I prefer the traditional look of Panasports.

Couldn't find one so if anyone has a picture of the rear brake shoes for a 77installed please post it for me. The new shoes don't match the old and the old don't seem to match the FSM picture. Thanks

For a stock 1970 240Z, what is the maximum rim width (assuming 0 back-spacing) that will fit inside the rear wheel wells without rubbing on the fenders? I’d like to install 225x60x14 (or 205x60x15) tires on 5-slotted, dished, brushed aluminum rims (maintaining the original overall wheel diameter of 24.7 based on the stock 195x70x14 wheels). I’m not sure what the width of the stock rims is (5 to 7?) or what rim width to purchase for the new tires that won’t require trimming the fenders. I have located used 5-slotted rims in 7 1/2", and 8 widths (can’t find them in 5 to 7), but have been told that the wider ones will rub on the fenders…

  7. Best price that included the wheels (Konig Graphite 15x7" +0), wheel lugs, center caps, and 4 valve stems together for an amazing price! Hop on their current website sale price that ends in mid May! I just got them in recently and the tires are in the garage! Hope to get 'em mounted later this week and post some pictures on the 280Z! (Just need to get the car lowered after-the-fact)! my brother and his lion-mane hair, haha

I found that on the driver side I have '77-'78 style shoes and wheel cylinder. and on the passenger side i have the stock '76 shoes and wheel cylinder! I don't know why anyone would ever do this. I can't tell any difference in the half axles and u-joints, can i just get a backing plate for a '77-'78 for the passenger side and complete the mod? I like having the cheaper wheel cyinders! but having half and half is just too weird.

I've been looking for some 16", zero-offset wheels for the Z... Ran across a deal I can't quite pass up on the following: SSR Professors, 17x8.5, +35 offset. Has anyone fitted a set of these to their Z? Understanding I'll likely need spacers, am I wasting my time regardless? Thanks guys!

Does anyone know where I can find a new or NOS brake master cylinder for my 78 2+2? I've searched the web, and the forums, but couldn't find anything. Also would a 79 zx one work on my 78 z? Any help is appreciated.

posted a question over on hybridz looking for pad replacement options for the toyota 4x4 caliper upgrade. from what i gather, porterfields seem to be the best available setup specifically for those calipers. HOWEVER, i did get this reply: "you can use pads from a Nissan 180SX or 200SX with very little mods all so the pads from a WRX will fit so you can get Performance pads to suit and they will go into Hilux 4x4 caliber" can anyone confirm/deny this? this opens up a whole new world of performance if this is true....
