I haven’t been able to locate a post That answers the question. I see Zcar Depot has some. Anyone else. 72 body and block, everything else 71, Tokico springs, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Ztherapy SUs, BRE 15X7 Libre wheels and BRE front spoiler.

Had I pulled the master cylinder first, I probably would not have posted the original post! I'm just trying to bleed the brakes on my Z after replacing rear wheel cylinders. The peddle seems to get really firm after what seems a short distance, and I wasn't seeing any level change in the rear reservoir (after pumping). (I had loosened the dvr-side-rear bleed-valve and run a tube into jar with fluid.) So, having just bled the clutch, which didn't work until the master was primed, I assumed the problem would be a dry - possibly pitted - MC, but that doesn't look like the problem. So I'm still troubleshooting. Any voices of experience will be appreciated!

I just replaced the wheel cylinders on my early '71, hoping to finally fix the brake problems. Long story short, it didn't work. I think the problem being the wheel cylinders don't slide in their slot. Just learned that's how they're supposed to work. Everything is new and clean. I've even wire brushed the plates and coated everything in a generous layer of brake grease. Now the wheel cylinders move with help from a good hit with a mallet, but I can't move them by hand. They definitely don't slide "freely". How tight in the slot should they be? Also, despite being an early model, mine had the late style wheel cylinders. The rear brakes never worked c…

So I pulled the front right tire off, did the soapy water thing to find the leak, and its actually leaking along the rim. It goes flat in a few days. One guy told me to use the "sealant" with an air compressor? I know slime makes it a mess in the future. I've never used fix a flat or slime. I'm not in a position to buy a new tire right now. When you put a tire on a rim, do you just fill it until it seals with the rim edge, or is there some sort of adhesive etc? Like if it was so flat that it popped off the rim, could you just manhandle it into place while filling it with air? I don't mind filling it a little every month or so to drive it, but it's…

A friend of just bought a box of Z items, brake MC, proportioning valves, calipers, etc. I recognize everything in the box except these 3 little wigets, a spring on one end connected to a hard rubber cylinder with a soft rubber tab at the end. They look familiar but I'm stumped.

I need some help on my brake system. I will start our with the history. The brakes were working fine. I sourced and installed a vented MK63 front brake upgrade. Upon completion I had a hard pedal and poor braking situation. I took off the brake booster and sent it out, it tested good. I put the original stock front brake /rotors and calipers. Still hard pedal. I have bleed the brakes repeatedly, today I started the car and felt for vacuum has vacuum in houses to the brake booster and holds vacuum after engine is turned off. Any suggestions? I am my end on this problem. Thanks for any help!

Good morning everyone, Everything is still original on my 280z. I have to slam the brake pedal to the floor for the Z to brake. What can be the cause of this issue? I was thinking of doing a re-haul including: new rotors, brake pads, drums brake shoes and brake fluid. Should I do the brake lines as well? Are there any other parts you recommend to change out?

I want to make sure I reassemble the proportioning valve in the rear of the car correctly. I know that it is actually more of a delay valve, but known as a proportioning valve. My question is which direction does the inner (red) seal go and on the other end what is the order of the washer (blue) and seal and direction of the seal (green). Thanks for the help.
