I recently purchase a nice set of " Western" slotted mag wheels , but no center caps. Yea, I know not everyone likes the retro style, but it works for me. Making it short I spent many hrs on the web looking for caps. Seems that the most popular is the 2.75 inch push on caps and the ones I was looking for didn't exist. I finally looked at the MSA cat and found they had the 3.183 inch caps.Taking nothing to chance I took a wheel with me to verify that the caps would fit. WELL, they didn't. I purchased one cap with the idea that I could make it fit. What I've discovered is that the caps have a range of interference fit and most of what I was finding, with new cap…

So after rebuilding my Z's braking system a few weeks ago, I have some questions about the engineering justifications for several of its features: 1. The front and rear braking systems are completely independent, yes? If so, then why the proportioning valve? Why not do all the proportioning through the master cylinder? 2. Is the function of the distribution block under the MC simply to split the lines from the one leaving the MC into the requisite number to feed pressure to each wheel? No valving in there? 3. What exactly does the sensor on the bottom of the distribution block sense? Low pressure? High pressure? Air in the system? As information, my car has the …

I can’t help playing with these configurator gadgets. American Racing has an S30 that lets you tweak wheel size, style and color as well as car color. Don’t think I’ll be buying anything, but it’s entertaining for a few minutes: https://my.americanracing.com/browse-wheels.cfm

I have a 260Z with an intact spare tire well, wheel, and a very old tire. Are these tires (collapsable spare) still avalable? If not, what should I be using as a spare? Tirerack dosen't have anything.

this question has come up before, i thought i had it figured out. i put this on the list as well. all new components, cylinder, springs, shoes, ect. i did all the work myself. the drum is aluminum and new. the right rear shoes are jamming against the drum, locked tight, by the self adjuster ( when the parking brake is used, adjusts the brakes ). i was able to turn the drum, ( put a large breaker to the lug nuts, force the wheel to turn, to access the adjuster ). the drum is off, everything looks fine. the driver's side is fine, works as it should. these adjusters worked from the factory, and should work now. i need to know how to fix this, so it doesn't h…

So...I need to get this thing unstuck if I'm going to be able to push the Z in and out of the garage (necessary for a whole host of reasons). It was fine a couple of week ago, but last weekend it seized up. Parking brake is off. Left rear drum rotates freely. It's not stuck to the hub. I PB'd that and it comes off. I can work the drum off about 1/4" and then it won't go any more, likely because that's how far the shoes will pull off the backing plate. Using a prybar between the wheel studs, I was able to rotate the drum so I have access to the adjuster gear; however, it won't budge with the screwdriver. I'm trying to rotate it down, right? Parking brake cable is di…

I've been searching through slot of threads on info about using the Rota rb 17x7.5 4mm wheels. All I've found is were someone randomly mentions them, not much info. I have a stock 73 240z, no flares. I was wondering if theses would fit with no rubbing issues? And if so what size tires would a guy want to use? I don't want to have the tires sticking out or have a stretched tire look. Any info would be great. Thanks guys!

I installed Sumitomo MK63 Calipers and vented rotors on my 72 Z recently. I have experienced a hard brake pedal since that installation. I tested the vacuum assist and I believe it is working. I pumped the brakes, held pressure and started the car and the pedal depressed slightly. I plan to put a vacuum gauge on it tomorrow and see if I have at least 18" vacuum. I believe the next possibility is the brake valve (Pressure Differential Switch). It may have moved off center during the installation and bleeding. I am looking for a NOS brake switch / valve just in case. Any leads out there for this part or any other NOS brake valves or proportioning valves for a 72?

I have searched and read but trying to figure out the easiest way to get the read drums off my car. Where exactly is the adjuster located? Can i stick my adjuster tool in there to loosen the shoes before attempting to pull the drums off? I need to replace the wheel cylinders in the rear. I appreciate any advice. Also need to replace one lug stud. I believe they are the originals. Is M12x1.4MM sound right? Where can i buy one and possibly a lug nut for them? Thank You in advance.
