I recently replaced the brake booster on my ‘75 280z and my brake still only goes about half way down to brake. If i need to brake hard i have to muscle it in. Is that normal? Or could something else be wrong? How far down should the brake pedal go before it stops?

I'm at the need-tires stage of my Series 2 240 restoration. I have the stock steel wheels and a set of 6" mags. What I want to do is fill the wheel well the way it would have been originally, but I can't seem to find the diameter of the stock, now obsolete, 175 HR-14 tires (no aspect ratio) tires. Anyone have that data handy? Thanks

Hello Guys, since last weekend I´m owning a 280z which will be fully restored and therefore I`ll change every component that was/is in contact with fluids or has orings inside. Especially the brake system. So when buying new parts I also could just spend a little more and get "better" parts. So the idea came up for a brake upgrade. I was reading a lot of threads about rear disc conversion in a couple of forums together with the problems that go along with it (brake bias, not for this stress designed axels etc.) Together with the fact that I`m out of germany and its not that easy to get it road legal with a disc brake where normally a drum sits. I was…

I have emailed Silvermine to ask why his brake rotors for 240Z are $50 more than for 280Z. No reply. I have read many posts pro and con in dealing with him. I am interested in the basic big brake kit utilizing the non-vented rotors, but the fact he doesn't respond to a simple email has me questioning whether or not to use his services. Anyone? Cheers, Mike

My old brake lines from the banjo bolt fitting to the metal brake line at my front calipers are being replaced and I ran into this problem. At the banjo end the threading is M10-1.0 male while the end of my new line is a M10-1.0 female. The brakes are a four piston design so I'm assuming it's a Toyota upgrade. The new brake line is a Centric 150.42010 from Rock Auto. Did the Toyota caliper take a different flexible brake line than the stock 260z brake caliper? thanks

I just bought some 280z struts that I am gonna use for a coilover conversion because I cut mine too short. I plan to clean up the rest of the assembly later, but I need to know what to do with the brakes. They have new wheel bearings/studs but the rotors are pretty rusted up since they have been sitting for a while. So I'm wondering, what is easier? Clean up rust on rotors and use new struts Swap existing "clean" rotors onto new struts If I clean off the rust, how thorough do I need to be? Is it a "shop should resurface these" thing or can I just use a wire brush and call it good? Or better yet, will the brake pads just do the work for me on …

It seems there are 2 differences on the spring edge used to hold the cap onto the wheel. Is one better than the other? Is there an early and late version of the hubcaps? pics showing difference.

I have slotted mags on my 75 but would like to look into getting some steel rims and OE 75 hubcaps. I see hubcaps all the time on ebay but not sure about how to get rims. I would prefer brand new since I don't want to worry about bent or other damage. Is there anything special I need to look for as far as size and fitment for the caps? I tried searching, while I am sure its out there I was unable to find anything specific. Going for standard size tires.

I am nearing the too-many-years completion of my bare bones 240Z restoration. There have been two donor cars involved, so I have quite a mash-up of parts, including two 14-inch hubcaps. A photo is attached. Can anyone tell me what series these are from? Also, would anyone have two more that they might be prepared to sell? Or alternatively, would anyone be prepared to offer me copious amounts of cash for these two? Many thanks,

Hello to all. I just picked up a 1973 240z out of a buddy's garage. His wife bought it new and it has sat for the last 10 years in the back of their garage. I am replacing the rear brake cylinders and cannot remember the way the locking plates go back. There is a flat one with holes and a curved one with bumps. Does the curved one go in from the back of the car first with the bumps up...and then the heavy flat one goes in from the front on top of the thin one, so the holes lock into the bumps...? Any help is appreciated...Riley

Hi everyone! I have a highly original 71' 240Z which I purchased from the original owner about ten years ago. It's a beauty that is missing only one thing...the original wheel covers. My question is, what style would a 1971 240Z have...would they be red centers or with the "D" in the center? As a final question, is ANYONE out there selling a set of their steel wheels and wheel covers
