I just acquired a set of Rota Shakotan 15x7 wheels. The center caps are not deep enough to leave room for the dust cap on the front wheels. Any ideas on finding a deep enough (1 1/2" clearance) cap that will fit in a 62 mm wheel opening? Thanks!

Looking for some nice 15x7 wheels for my 1972 240z. Car looks nice but i guess better wheels will make it look nicer. Any opinions?

I was sniffing around a Porsche forum and found this company called Group 4 that makes a replica of the Campagnolo 40802 wheel. The Campagnolo 40802 wheel is what the Hayashi Street is based on, which is what the Rota Shakotan is based on. Group 4 sells a couple of different diameters in a handful of widths, and you can get them in 114.3 4 lug with a custom offset in either mag color or gold. One 15x7" wheel costs, £336.00 including VAT. I've reached out a couple of times but not gotten a response, but that might be because I've been using social media instead of email. http://group4wheels.com

My 240Z has the early design master cylinder. I recently replaced the vacuum servo unit with the MSA one. When everything was reassembled and brakes were bled, the brake pedal was very stiff. When I removed the master cylinder the piston only moves about 1/8 of an inch when I push on it. My question is how much force does it take to move the MC piston? Is the MC shot?

Hey ya'll, I have 14" stock rims and just ordered 205/60/R15 tires, so I need a new set of 15" wheels. I'm looking for 7" in diameter. I don't like the 2 or 3 options there are for 15x7's with 0 offset, and I'm trying to keep the tire track pretty close to stock. So it got me wondering..... If I bought a wheel with 25mm (about 1") POSITIVE offset, but then combined it with a 25mm wheel spacer, wouldn't that simulate "0mm offset" in terms of clearance with calipers, brakes, spindle, etc.? If yes, then this would be nice as it would give me more wheel options by using an 1" thick adapter to change bolt pattern, or picking a wheel with positive offset i…

My 260Z was built in August so I believe it's a late model 260Z. In an effort to restore the brakes, I have a ZX Booster with a ZX Master Cylinder. The booster mounts without having to drill any new holes. I read a bunch of posts and I recall installations requiring to flip the booster upside down to fit. I did that and now the last 1" of pedal travel (before it hits the brake switch) has a noticeable "stick". It sounds like a thud and feels like the boost and/or rod are getting hung up somewhere. I checked around the linkage and nothing is interfering. The rod to the booster seems to attach to the brake pedal arm straight. I'm thinking the booster needs to be re-…

Did some work this weekend, reman booster new master cylinder, new pads (organic) added shims. Rear wheel cylinders and shoes all new within the month. Been trying to solve a weak and squealing braking issue for a long time: brakes feel better, still some squeal. I swapped the semi-metallic pads with organic pads with some shims to try to quiet the brakes. Any advice on pad construction/type? The semi metallics squealed horribly, but didn't have the shims. ^^^^^^^^GREAT design by Nissan, I didn't know, but you can change the pads without removing the caliper on the early Z cars! Just compress the old pad back in with a clamp and pull them out with plier…

I'm finishing up the rebuilding of my front suspension and brakes. I bought all new hardware for may brakes and the kit came with a wire spring I've never used in the past. I'm sure its not needed as its not in any of the manuals I've seen, I think its an anti rattle spring but how would you install it on a stock 1972 240Z disk brake setup? Thanks, Steve
