It's getting close to Christmas and I've been doing some wheel shopping, but can't seem to come to a decision. So far I'm trying to decide between the following: Rota RKR: I think I like the shape/style of this one best. They're only available in 15x8, though, and I'm not sure that'll fit without rubbing. I still have the slightly-tired stock motor, and probably will for a while, so 8" is a lot of wheel. If the RKR were available in 15x7 or 16x7, it'd probably be a no-brainer pick. Rota RB: comes in 16x7, which is probably the best choice as far as fitment and tire availability is concerned. (As far as looks, I've flip-flopped about 100 times on 15" v…

I acquired this set of D wheel covers for helping a friend part a car out that had them sitting in the hatch. I also have three 14x4.5 original wheels. The wheel covers are rough but complete and appear to be free of any impact damage. The rust is pretty severe and I unsure if it would be financially viable to have them blasted, repaired, re-chromed, and re-painted. The metal is pitted where the build up of rust is on the outer edge. I took some fine steel wool just to see what could be done with elbow grease alone. The hazy residue took some real effort to get through but I can already tell that to do them justice, they need to be re-chromed. I already have inquir…

Hello, I recently bought a 78 280z and it came with a rear disc conversion installed. Both my rear lines are kinked and leaking and i am trying to identify which kit it is and where i can source 2 braided rear lines. By searching around it looks to be the silvermine kit. The mounting bracket looks like its theirs. the caliper looks like the maxima caliper. I would like some confirmation from those that have more experience since i am a newb in the z world and its upgrades. I have looked at various sites and they all sell the kit, but none sell the brake line alone. Thanks

Can anyone help me ID the brand of these slotted mags? I did a quick search and am not coming up with much. I have a set of 4 that I will probably be looking to sell, but am hoping to get more info before I do. Looks like they say: WHEEL DIST ONTARIO CAL 14x5.5

I've searched and searched and have been unable to find a Brake Master rebuild kit for my 76 280Z. I checked RockAuto, but they only had one for the 79 which is 15/16". I need the 7/8". Any help is appreciated! Best! ~Matt

Has anyone ever had longer brakes hoses made for their classic Z? I am doing some rear suspension component testing and pretty much cannot swap out anything with out opening the brake system. It seems that if the brake line was 3-4 inches longer the system could stay closed and I could swap components at will. Of course, I am sure the length of hose was determined by an engineer but was curious if Is spec'd a stainless set from a brake hose company would there be any negative affects?

Lets be completely clear, yes, I love my panasports. They are perfect in every way (Guy looking at you bud! ), but sometimes you just want something different for a while. Can you have too many swiss watches? Can you have too many .45 caliber Firearms? Is it possible to have too many vintage cars? I say no too those and many other questions like...No honey I have not had enough cookies today. So I could no longer resist the temptation of the satin black konig rewinds sold by MSA for 479 shipped. So badda bing one click later they are on the way. Lets talk tires. Recall I have tried three different sized on my 15x7 wheels up to this point. 205/60/15 w…

Bleeding Issues 1 2

Hi all, Had a setback recently with brakes. I have installed: new hoses, hard lines at the drumps, pads, rotors, calipers, rebuilt the drums, and a new master cylinder. I have bled brakes before and as usual started with the furthest from the master cylinder (start with the rear left, then rear right, front right, front left). My issue is starting with the rear right, I'm not getting any fluid to pump from the master cylinder to the bleeder. Even when completely disconnected this doesn't work. I am assuming that I have a blockage in the hard lines and wanted some advice on clearing it. I am using the old school method of pumping the pedal and want to know if inve…

If you have some hubs or knock-offs you want to put on your Zed wheels, can you get them engraved? Is there anything special you need to do or a certain kind of place to look for?

New problem pops up on me today. I was out in traffic an noticed the brakes starting to lock up, almost no travel, I barely get it off the road in time as it was clearly getting worse. Stuck in a parking lot with no tools, and forgot my phone. I after some head scratching (my head on the break pedal laying on the floorboard looking up at it) I noticed the lock nut on the pedal stop did not look right. Must have been when I installed a new MC and was messing with the pedal height. Anyway what was happening was every time I depressed the pedal, the stop screw must have backed out just a bit, reducing the free travel. It prob was over a long period of time and I just did not…

I've never done this before, was redoing all my front bushings and figured I might as well do the bearings and races. Everything is apart but still need to tap out the old races. I've seen that a few people really cleaned up their hubs before putting in the new races, even going as far as soaking them in gas or mineral spirits. I was originally only going to wipe off as much of the old grease as I could thinking the residual couldn't hurt. Any advice here? thanks, Steve
