I've got a 1971 240Z and am upgrading to Speedhut gauges. One of the options that is available (by special request) is additional LED lights on the tach for things like a Brake Indicator. As my car is not together right now and I can't seem to find it in here or in manuals etc, I'd like some experienced help on how the light is triggered (by either the parking brake or fluid cylinder). Is the current brake indicator lighted with a 12v+ or a Ground? Thanks in advance.

Curious as to what you all think. One thing I discovered is this spoiler covers all the emblem holes except one, the one on the right of the Datsun logo. So, if this is a yes, this is a bigger deal than simply bolting on a spoiler.

Relevant info: Stock 71 240 Wheels not yet purchased Tires will be almost exclusively for dry spirited street usage, possibly limited autocross in the future Near future plans for type1 front air dam Few years from now possible plans for light suspension modification and slight lowering Very limited mileage will be put on them Tire property priorities 1) Steering response 2) Minimal road noise 3) Ride comfort (I expect it to be sporty, just don't want it harsh) 4) Stability 5) Traction Car will avoid the wet whenever possible, and babied if unavoidable. There are lots of threads talking about preferred widths and sidewall heights, and various suspension setups. The …

I think I'll try this tonight. I can't remember doing one before but that doesn't mean much, memory...bad, very bad. Put rags everywhere then take the old one off and clean up the booster. Bench bleed the new one then put the plugs back in the bottom ports Bolt it onto the booster Connect the brake lines Bleed all the old fluid out Thanks for helpful advice. Cliff

Will it work? I guess the only reason it wouldn't work would be if the bead on the rim was not standard and if the valve stem hole did not accommodate modern plug-in valve stems. Can anyone confirm that it works? This is for a spare btw...

I'm way overdue for new tires for my '75. I currently have on a set of Cooper 215/60r14 tires. My rims are 7 inches wide if I remember correctly. A new set of tires in that size will cost me about $94 a pop. However I can get a set of 205/60r14 tires for $50 each. I love how the 215s look, but are they worth paying nearly double for?? What do you guys think??

Time to sort out my rear brakes that came on my car when I bought her awhile ago. Looking at all the pics posted on the site and I think the calipers are Maxima but the disk which is 280mm doesn't seem to match anything listed on sites I have visited. The bracket is home made and I would like to replace it for a milled one. The brake lines are another story... all this done by the previous owner.

A set of slotted wheels is available in my area, thinking of picking them up for cleanup and resale. I've not yet checked them out and the seller does not have a price posted (yes, I've sent him an inquiry). I'd appreciate any feedback on prices folks have paid for a set of similar wheels. Thanks.

Not sure which this belongs to. I seem to have an intermittent problem. Out yesterday I noticed for the 1st time a pronounced pull to the right when when braking moderate to hard. was on some dirt roads and it was even worse, hands off the steering wheel would very quickly turn right with even light braking. later on in the day it seemed to stop (not on dirt road did not get to try that again). tire pressure even. Jacked up the front and had helper apply brakes. could not determine any noticeable difference when trying to turn wheels against braking force. Granted this would be only a test of the lightest braking loads, but mainly I just waned to make sure the left …

As part of replacing the failed brake booster on my 72, I chose to suction most of the fluid from, and remove the master cylinder from my brake lines. Didn't want to risk bending brake tubing. After the new booster is in place, is it necessary to bench bleed the master, or can I just install it and bleed the lines as normal? I'm only asking because if I should bench bleed, I need to secure some plugs to block the line connections. Thanks
