I had my brake system flushed over the summer at National Tire & Brake (NTB). I asked the guy what the fluid was, so I can keep extra on hand, and he told me it was DOT-4. Why not DOT-3, like every other topic has?

On a wheel that has a +42 offset as I understand it you need a spacer for this wheel to fit on a 240Z. Question is would the spacer need to be a -42? A + offset means the wheel where it attaches to the car is further from the car where as a - offset it is closer. Right?

Hi Everyone, I did a search and still have a few questions. Is there a ride quality difference between the 15 and 16 inch wheels? (Still have the 14's on my car so curious how much of my luxurious ride quality I will lose! ) Is there a potential for rubbing with the 16 inch panasports and stock suspension? I spoke to a guy with them and he wishes he had bought the 15 inch wheels. If I go with 15 inch, should I get the 15x7 or 15x6? Is there anywhere to buy them other than MSA? I think they are always marked up so much on their items even though I order quite a bit from them. (Just not a 1000 dollars worth of rims!) I just dont want to order one and wish I had orde…

hello. i've recently purchased a '71 240 after much research(this site helped a great deal). the car came with almost everything needed for the 300zx brake swap.toyota 4-piston calipars, 300rotors,jsk spacers, but no bolts.i've learned through these forums that i will need 10mm x 1.25 x 40mm long (10.9 hardness). is the 1.25 the thread pitch? how about the bolt head? i've contacted motorsport and they do not sell just the bolts. any ideas of the best place to make this purchase? is there anything else i'll need? the swap looks pretty straight forward, anything i should specifically watch out for. any or all help is greatly appreciated! i look forward to many more discussi…

I was thinking of going with the classic 5 slot aluminum rims from back in the day. Real wide though. Any special place you guys know of that will have the right size and bolt pattern or just keep browsing through Ebay? When I say wide I mean real wide. Flares and everything. I want my Z to squat and look mean

my friend is offering me free wheels for my Z. they came off his old grand am. they are konig 6 spoke's that are a silver color, with a deep groove down each spoke. we went to put them on today, and BAH! they dont fit. the tire rubs against the sidewall, and the lug studs dont even reach the wheel (by about 1 inch.) well the tires mounted on them are P205-65-R15's, and the wheels themselves are 15x6.5 JJ. on the back of them, they've got an "00" on one spoke, "10" on another, "No.099" on another. i dont know what the "ofset" is.... will these wheels fit with ease if i get a "spacer" for it? you can tell, ive rebuild an entire Z but i have NO idea about wheels and tires…

Hi all, i'm looking into getting some Konig Rewinds - seem like pretty good value to me. Anyway, i've done some pretty (read: very) dodgy photoshop work and have superimposed them over the top of my wheels. I'm just after some opinions of what people think looks the best. If i had my way i'd have black with a polished lip on a white or silver car - but i reckon red is too dark a colour to have black wheels. The jellybean wheels are what i've got on it at the moment and are 14s. I think i'm going to get 15" Rewinds. Opinions...

I finally got the chance to install the stainless braided brake hoses on all four wheels of my car, and now I have brakes! The old rubber hoses were weak, so they were bulging a little, and there was just a bit of leaking. Braking was slow, and probably took double the distance at highway speeds. After the install, I tried the brakes in an open place, and I'm glad I had on my shoulder belt, because I almost hit my head on the steering wheel!. Hopefully, I'll never have to use the improved brakes on the road, but at least I know I can stop MUCH more quickly if I need to. I put on a new PCV valve too, and the engine & transmission ar much happier now too.

Forgive me if this has already been addressed. I have the 82/83 turbo rims on my 78. They are 15" rims. Now it's time for new tires and I wan t to know which of these sizes would handle the best: -195/50/R15 -205/50/R15 I want to switch from my 215/60/R15's. I believe the above sizes would improve the handling. However, I don't want the tires to look too dinky around the rim. Now I know there are other factors at play when it comes to suspension. I also know that brands may also make a slight difference. Honestly I'm looking at Kumhos on Tire Rack since I am on a budget. Oh, and the tires I plan to get must be H-rated. Any suggestions on the sizes would be helpful. …

Like many, I really covet the Panasports, but am unwilling to fork over that kind of money. I found some 15" and 16" Rota RB wheels with the right offset, actually -4. I don't want extremely low profile tires, as it make the wheels look too modern for the car (to me). Probably 205 or 215 55's or 60's I do not want to lower the car either. Does anyone have any pics of z's on 15's 16's, not lowered. Of course I don't want it to look too tall, or have too much space b/w the top of the tire and the wheel well. I realize that it's all subjective. BTW, I am not racing, just driving hard on some of my favorite twisties around town. I want to leave the ride height the wa…
