I have a Series one car with period slot mags. I am currently running 185/70 R14s on them. However, it is time for a new set of all season tires. What does everyone like for their stock cars? Do you recommend going to 195/75 R14? Thanks!

Hi, finishing up a rear suspension rebuild and noticed I'm missing one of the rear brake drum inspection plugs. I see that a replacement is available but they are about $16.00 for two when I add in shipping to Canada its about $36.00. Has anyone found an alternative that fits? I took a look at my local auto parts stores and came up with nothing. Thanks, Steve

Sorry for the bad grammar, but I wanted to keep the title short to get greater attention... Most of the threads discussing (rear) brake shoes are from around 2004, so I thought there might be some new stuff available for the rear brakes. My needs would be "performance street riving" with some occasional lapping. Is there anything new or recommended for the 280Z with Aluminum drums?

I was looking at some photos in a JDM gallery the other day and saw a roadster with stock steel wheels that had been painted gold. It looked damn hot, so I am considering doing something like this. But... I also want wider and larger diameter wheels than the stock rims. I know people widen domestic steel rims for American muscle cars, so I am curious if anyone has any experience with this. I've seen huge (12" + wide) 14" diameter Datsun wheels on stance and drift cars, but nothing closer to what I see around here. Can you take the stock win up to 15x7"? Is the cost close enough to the cost of buying new rims or is it crazy expensive to do this? Ideally I'd end up with 15x…

Hi! Longer time lurker finally digging out! I really enjoyed this forum's community through the years. I learned a lot even though I could not contribute much back. I am really curious about getting a new set of rims. This led me to remove my front wheel and learn what this car has to offer. The previous owner resold the car and did not do any type of modifications, so right off the bat he did not know much about the car. Removing the front left wheel, I noticed a spacer. I measured it to be 8mm (if my math is correct). After removing this plate, I noticed "another spacer"????This spacer seems to be at 16mm. At first, I was like "wut da coochy"??? Then I figure…

I have searched high and low for a decent set of these wheels and finally managed to buy a set last night. Only issue is that there are no center caps with the wheels. I have another set of caps but I believe they are for the 6 spoke 14" wheel. Anyone know where I might get my hands on a set of 4 or 5 caps for the turbo wheels? I'd appreciate a push in the right direction or feel free to PM me. If this should be in the wanted classifieds, I apologize and ask the mods for a redirection. Chris

A couple of quick questions on rear brake line hardware. I’m working on my rear suspension and will need to replace my flex brake hoses and some of the hardline that I messed up when removing. Even with a flare wrench and lots of PB blaster those nuts weren’t moving and I rounded some off. So my questions; Do the generic rubber brake hoses fit into and are they held by the clip where the rubber hose meets the hardline? Is there a preferred replacement rubber hose? I’m looking at Rock Auto and am considering Beck/Arnley 0730267 which is listed as a replacement for the OEM part number. Finally, for the hardline fittings, are these generic enough …

Late last fall, I had some discretionary cash and purchased a front Wilwood brake upgrade kit from Silvermine. Also a 15/16" master cylinder upgrade to compensate for the larger calipers. I knew I had an issue with a slightly warped rotor which was my main reason leading to the front brake refresh. The install went relatively smoothly, replaced the wheel bearings & races with Timken's while I was in there, and refreshed the hubs. Tried to modify & retain the original dust shields, but they interfere with the new, larger vented rotors so will have to get some new ones made up from aluminum or stainless as I don't like running without them on a str…
