While looking for wheel cylinders for my 3/71 240, a vender told me that the later model cylinders will fit with only a minorod to the break line. Anyone ever do this swap? If it is this simple, why has it not been discussed? Surly $50 wheel cylinders areore favorable than $225 cylinders. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the great support, Eric ;0)

There are other sites around that offer gadgets for playing with wheel and tire options but this one makes it simple and visual: http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

I had to replace the floors and frame rails on my 280z due to some pretty severe rust issues. In the process most of the mounting brackets for the brake and gas lines went away. Is anyone aware of somewhere I can source a generic mounting system. I can weld brakets on easily enough but I want something that is rubber lined similar to the original configuration. Any help would be much appreciated. I've been searching for quite a while and must not have hit on the right combination of key words.

Good morning- new member, first post. After a long search I finally came across my Z project- a low rust, relatively unmolested 71 240z. It came wi horrible mags, and I'd like to install the original factory hubcaps (already have a set). Are there any aftermarket steel wheels with proper bolt pattern and offset? I don't need OEM wheels- but I definitely want OEM fit. Any thoughts? Andy

Hello All, I have decided to upgrade the front brakes in my 11/70 240z. I ordered cross drilled/slotted rotors and the 4 piston caliper kit from MSA and before I install them I have a few questions. With the new calipers will I need to upgrade the brake master cylinder? What about the brake booster? If anyone has any experience with this, I'd greatly appreciate the input! I'm also leaving the stock drums on the rear! Chris

I own a 1975 Datsun 280Z and would like to continue using my original nostalgic rims. I have read a lot of good information on this topic, but it still leaves you a little unsure. I know I only have one choice for tires in a semi-performance all season (BF goodrich radial T/A). I know this car's stock suspension is higher than my previous 240Z and I intend to lower my current 280Z a couple of inches. Unfortunately I need tires now so I can't wait to lower the car and then buy tires, which would be the proper order to do it. Just wondered if anybody knew the right tire size to choose from between a 215/60/14 and 215/70/14 and 225/60/14 and a 235/60/14? I am trying to…

Okay....I have read all the brake booster threads I could find and here's the deal. My car was built in July of 1972 and has the small six inch booster. From looking at the threads on the subject there supposedly was a change over in June of 72 to a larger booster that was carried over to the 73's and on. I'm thinking my car probably came off the line at the very tail end of the small booster build out. So anyway I'm thinking I should ignore ordering by year and concentrate on the size which would be from a 1971. If I order a 72, from what I can tell, I'm going to get the larger booster with a different bolt pattern.

Here is a set of 14 by 6.5 Type B Watanabe's on ebay. These are a great fit on non flared z cars. I emailed the seller and he told me that they are type B. I thought they were, but I had to make sure. That means that these have a +14.5mm offset. If anyone is looking for a set of Watanabe's for their non-flared Z, these are a nice size and offset. I believe that Guus Van Der Bohl has these same size and offset Watanabe's on his rally Z, but you would have to make sure with him. Hopefully someone will pick these up. Any price under 1k is good for these wheels as long as they are in great shape, and I bet they can be had for much less. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotor…

In one of the corners it states as Nissan branded. I want to restore them completely and would like to know what is the correct procedure. Do i use sandpaper? if so what grit or should i strive for Steel wool? I dont want to scratch them. What about the buffing machine? What product can i use for cleaning and polishing?
