I’ve spent this week installing new springs and all is complete, now its time to bleed the brakes. I cannot get a flow of fluid to the rear brakes. I’ve bled the MC twice – once with a vacuum bleeder, once with the old pump-bleed-tighten-release method. I’ve repeatedly tried to bleed both sides of the rears but cannot pull fluid with the vacuum bleeder. I even disconnected the RR hard line on the body that connects to the flex line and attached the bleeder. It pulled a solid vacuum and held it for 30 min. with no flow. Here are a few other bits of info: - Everything was working properly before I started the project. - The MC is â€newâ€, only two years old…

Hey guys. I have a rather urgent question: TO make the car road-legal, I have to change the handbreak cable on my 1972 Datsun 240Z, but i´m not sure, which part to go with. I could have one from nearby, which comes out of a 260 2+2 or go with something like this: Datsun Fairlady Z 240Z 260z 280z 2SEAT Hand Brake 2 Cables New | eBay My question is: Are they all the same in the 240´s to the 280´s or are there major differences. Can even the 2+2-versions be used, or are they way longer then the ones in the 2-seater? Maybe its just a detail changed, but it seems to me, that there are numerous different Part-No. This does not necessarilly mean, that the part is really diffe…

I bought a pretty beat-up 260Z from a friend as a parts car. I bought it just on the strength of a few smart-phone pictures for $150. One of the selling points (in his mind, anyway) was that the car has what he calls "high performance" brakes. Now that I have the car, the only thing I can find on it that might conceivably be high performance is the front calipers. Does anyone recognize these? Any advice on whether they are worth swapping onto my '71 240? Thank you!

Hey mates A few weekends ago I went over to the local tire shop to have my brakes bled - basically redid my front discs and needed the air out. Well they pulled all four tires off and bled the brakes per usual. When they were putting the wheels back on they said one of the lug studs was in very poor shape and should be replaced soon. Since I don't feel like pulling the bearings off I'ved lived with the wheels on. Well it has come time to do the rear drums - as well...its metal on metal..or very close to it. I'm afriad that if I pull the lug nut off the one lug nut that is in "poor shape" it will snap. Two questions. 1. What is your opinion on what I should do? 2. Is it sa…

I recently replaced the rear wheel cylinders in my 1972 Z. I have been fruitlessly trying to adjust the shoes. The center part of the adjuster (with the slot the shoe fits into) does not thread in or out when the knurled outer part of the adjuster is turned. Both of the adjusters that came with the OEM wheel cylinders seem to have the the center fused to the outer. Did I get the the wrong part or am I missing something? Thanks for any advise.

First, I'm looking at some 8.25X15 rims that I really like and want to run 225X50X15 tires, any issues? Second I've been reading about hub centric rings and wondering if they would really do much since I know the Z is "lug centric?" These are going on my stock 75 280, currently running a 7.5X15 rim with no issues. Thanks.
