I just blasted and painted my rear strut assemblies. There's a gasket that goes around the emergency brake lever on the drums that helps keep dirt from getting in the drums. Mine were completely shot and fell apart, which is to be expected with 30+ year old car. Does anyone know if this part is still available? I've searched the forums and online, no luck. My guess is it isn't available, but you know never know with these cars. Thanks guys!

I have the classic symptoms of brake booster leakage: Rock hard pedal Hissing sound on braking Engine idle increase when brakes applied when parked The problem is I cannot seem to locate a rebuilt unit! I have tried NAPA, Autozone, O'Reilly and Rockauto. The only help I got was an offer to take my booster and rebuild it. Any ideas out there? Thanks!

I'm in the middle of a restoration on my 280. I noticed my brake lights were always on. The plastic washer that is located on the brake pedal that keeps the brake light switch engaged was cracked and broken. Does anyone know where I can purchase this small plastic washer? I've looked around, but no luck so far. Thanks!

My HLS30-03083 and younger sister rolled off for a better home last week. They left behind some hubs and sneakers, I figure others may have an interest in. Hello all. I am having a really hard time trying to find rims for my 240z. The thing is mine has rear fender flairs but no front flairs. I am happy with that. I would like wide in the rear and stock width on front or maybe an inch wider. I am a big fan of the thrush style but all I found was 5 lug. I have turbine rims on mine now but I am missing one front rim.

Alright guys, I know it's been a while since I've posted on here -- I usually just cruise the 'search' function for useful info , but I'm really scratching my head at my car right now. I have absolutely no braking power in the thing, and I've replaced every part I can think of. It's a completely stock setup, now with brand new: wheel cylinders at the back (w/ new shoes) master cylinder brake calipers (with new pads) I replaced all the rubber brake hoses a few years ago, and I put a new power brake booster on a number of years ago as well. There are no visible leaks anywhere in the system, and it bleeds cleanly... what am I missing??? ... and the whole thing is acting like…

This is my second set of front pads, this set promised better stopping and less dust but there is just as much dust as the other pads and maybe more. There seems to be very little selection of pads for stock discs so I'm wondering about other ways to keep the brake dust off of the wheels. Waxes, dust shields, etc. Anyone have any tricks they want to share? Normally I wouldn't care so much but after a one hour drive the front wheels look terrible compared to the rest of the clean car. Thanks, Chris

Just out of curiousity, what are the value of the 77-78 Nissan "mags"? Lets just say for sake of argument that they are in sitting in somebody's backyard for the past 20 years condition without the emblems (actually have no idea of condition). Also for a set of the 14" 5 slot wheels as well. Currently I have the set of 5 slots on the 71 240z I picked up the other weekend (parting out since it is about all it is worth) and the 77-78 wheels are another parts car I may be picking up if I can get rid of enough stuff. I do also realize that value for something like this does get down to more of what somebody who wants them is willing to pay, so reasonable price ranges that yal…

I'm looking for new wheel locks that will fit Appliance wire mesh wheels from the '70's on my '76 280z-wheels 14x6 front and 14x7 on rear. Does anyone know the wheel lock that would work, especially McGard or Gorilla??? I have locks on now but chrome chipped and rusting. No, I don't know the brand of the current locks that are on wheels.

Anyone can respond, but Arne if you are out there you could probably answer this question. I have the Appliance wheels purchased in the '70's on my '76 280z silver and would like to put new lug nuts on. Where can I buy them??? Only need 12 cuz I put lock on at that time. Thanks :classic:
