Hi everyone, I apologize in advance for this because I feel like this topic must have been beaten over and over, but I wasn't able to find anything via search (probably has to do with all the search terms being too short: DOT, 4, ATE, etc). Is ATE Super Blue safe to use in stock 240Z brake systems or are there incompatibilities with the original, designed-for-DOT-3 components? Thanks much...

I have a 72 240Z with stock brake components. The other day I backed out of my garage and noticed a very soft pedal. I discovered the front brake cylinder reservoir was nearly empty, so filled it back up. I had a little more pedal, but obviously air had gotten in the line. I didn't see any fluid on the floor so assumed (I know, a bad idea) that I might have a bad master cylinder and maybe it had bled into the booster. While taking the master and booster out I was looking for fluid that had gotten past the seals in the master and perhaps contaminated the booster (all was dry). Since the master had a life-time warranty, I went and got a new one. Figured it couldn't hurt. I …

So basically the title says it. I got these new Brembo brakes from a corvette but its pretty big, and I need to change the rotor and brackets that holds the Brembo brakes. I have a 76' Datsun 280z. Can somebody please give me some advice/suggestions? Here is some brief information about me and my car. I'm 19 in the US Air Force and is currently doing for fun. My goal is to make this car a daily driver. This is my first project car and I'm new to this forum. Its a 76' Datsun 280z and I'm swapping it with a VQ35DE 350Z Rev-up rebuilt 06' engine with a 360Z tranny 06'. Any suggestions from you guys would be extremely helpful.

I just learned that the Z432R's came with manual brakes. The MC appears to be a standard 7/8" Z part. Did they use a different unit that looks similar? Did they use the same one and adjust the pedal ratio to provide more leverage? Both? The OEM manual brake offering intrigues me. I presume they did this because the race cars didn't produce enough vacuum to operate the booster.

My old school Minilites (true magnesium) from the 70’s, I just pick my set of 4 up from having them media blasted and a fresh powder coat applied. I am getting them ready to sell. 14X7.5 Amazingly I found all 16 original lug nuts which are off having the chrome stripped and then they will get a black zinc plate.

Hi all; I need brake lights on my car! I have a '74 260z racecar that has been stripped for competition. During the car's original race preparation ten years ago (before I owned the car), the brake lights were disconnected. The light fixtures, lenses and bulbs are still there, as is some wiring, but the brake lights don't work. We're now switching to a class that requires brake lights. But I learned long ago not to do anything to my Z car without asking on this forum first! Soooo... any help in figuring out where to start, how to trace the wiring, where the sending unit might be, etc., etc., would be most appreciated. I'm starting from scratch here. Many thanks!

Since old wheels are a popular subject of late, does anyone know the history of Cromodora "Daytona" mags? I believe these were true magnesium alloy. I've only seen a few pictures and NEVER any for sale.

I ended up buying a 15/16 280 MC from Matt Hurr a while ago here. I am upgrading to 4x4 S12+8 calipers front, and 240sx rear. I currently have the stock 240Z MC and when I opened the box this is what I had . . . MC Fluid Cups Filters Fluid Cup brackets (to tighten around openings) Now, I noticed that I didn't have any of the bleeder valves, what type do I need to buy to put into the SIDE of the MC? Can I just take the Front and Rear Lines out of the bottom of my stock 240Z MC, and run them into the bottom of my new 15/16 MC? Do I need to buy any adapters? Finally I see a small hole on the opposite side of the MC's bleeder valves. It looks like a screw can go into t…

Just got some Rota Grid V (15x8") and I tried to test fit just one rim to the car. well i tried the fronts first and the rim wont sit flush to the mounting pad because the front hub is tapered I guess and may be to large at its base. I did some research and the front bores are like 73mm and the Rota's are 73.1mm a close fit. but it should fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do or if anyone has had problems similar to this? I was thinking of sanding the crap out of the bore to snug it up. Sorry guys, I can't make out of what some of those number mean. Can anyone identify the offset of this set of wheel. I'm planning to put on my 240z stock suspension. Any input will be appreciated, thanks.
