Hi everyone. I'm nearing completion of a stock restoration of a Series 1 car. Was wondering, if I show it in a stock class, what tire size I can use and not get point deductions? Are all the Gold Medallion cars running the original 175HRx14's? I think I remember finding one place that still sold that size. Thanks for the help!

My brake booster finally quit on me. So while I was in the process of replacing it, I noticed that the little clip that holds the brake pedal clevis pin in place was missing. This means that the clevis pin could have worked it's way loose at any time-like on a canyon road with a 200 foot drop. Worth the $100.00 just for that knowledge.

OK...I just purchased a set of Rota RB's. They will arrive in a day or two, and I am researching which valve stems to buy for the wheels. I definitely prefer the metal look (steel, chrome, aluminum) over the rubber ones, but would appreciate any insight in this area. After a few hours of searching, I didn't come up with much, but I did learn that apparently the holes in the wheels for the stems come in two different diameters (.453 or .625) and some stems seem to slip on using a rubber gasket, while others are secured with a hex nut tightened from the inside of the wheel. I would appreciate any advice on which hole size the RB's come with as well as personal experiences…

My spare tire wheel will be back from powdercoating shortly. The question now is whether to remount the original Toyo spare tire, which was never used, or find a new replacement tire. I'm concerned about the safety of a 38 year old tire. But I have not been able to locate a new 175 HR-14. Has anyone found a suitable replacement? What is the maximum tire size that will fit in the wheel well without protruding above the rear deck of an early 260Z? Thanks for your input. Fixitman

These wheels in 16x7 would look great on a Z. Does anyone know if they will be produced in that size?

I've been reading everything I can on the site with regards to this size, but haven't seen a definitive answer yet. Could use some help, if someone is running these. Have an opportunity to purchase an unused set of TOYO RA1 tires in 225/50R/14. This is appealing to me since I have two 14" wheelsets in the garage, and no good rubber (haven't found the cahones to buy a 15" wheel yet). The car will have Tokico springs and Illumina struts. They're going on next week, so I don't have any experience yet with this height/setup. Can anyone hazard a guess how much rub I'm going to have? I'm worried that it'll just be way too wide. The car came with 215/60/14 installed (th…

Has anybody purchased a set of the new VTO LeMans wheels. I am very interested in these, as they are clones of the BRE racing wheel. I would love to see these on a Z before I sell my panasports...

Here is the data with John Coffey's alignment targets in the left column: The Sept-29 is the data for the car as assembled in stock form. Oct 10 is after a front toe adjustment. Oct 30 and Nov 4 are after two different shops adjusted new techno toys tension/compression and rear control arms. Shouldn't the shops be able to dial in on John Coffey's numbers? Is this the ability of modern day mechanics who specialize in alignment or are the techno toy parts just too difficult to adjust (rolling eyes)? Thanks

Looking for some help identifying these wheels. P/O told me these wheels are from the 70's, but I have found a few half truths in what he told me. I can't find much on them in this forums archives or general google search. Dyna Lite is the name of the company that produced them, they are well made and quite light. I will be tearing them down for a rebuild fairly soon so thought I would ask. I have been through the big thread with wheel pics and they are not listed. 15" x 7" I think, could be 15" x 6" Also they are a 2 part wheel. Thanks, Chris

So I have moved to the rear of my 240z to replace the rubber line and wheel cylinder and it appears that no brake work has EVER been done on it since new. I am trying to break the hard line fittings loose using my 10mm line wrench. I soaked the fittings in PB Blaster penetrating fluid and could get a good grip on them with my wrench since they have never been messed with but with only a fair amount of strength the wrech started digging in to the fitting and rounding it off. I stopped, tried heating up the surrounding metal with my propane torch but still no luck. Before I move further does anyone have any ideas on to get these loose? If I needed I could possibly make…
