Just in case anyone was curious on brake parts I used a rear cylinder from O'Reilly's to replace my pass. side rear wheel cylinder 2 weeks ago. So far it is working fine and it seems to be a quality piece. It was $45.00 plus tax. BrakeBest® - Wheel Cylinder Part # WC96878. It came with the bleeder valve and the rubber boot. The only thing this the auto adjust lever needed to be tweaked to fully engage the wheel. PS do this BEFORE you install it! :stupid:

So finished up a 2 day project of installing new Techno Toy Tuning coil-overs. I have some Indy mags that are 14" and I am having a serious time with the ball joints(oem) Rubbing on the rim. For those that have ran or run this setup what size rims and tires did you go with, back spacing width ect would be a great Plus. Pictures would also be wonderful.

hi i have just acquired some calipers from a 1995 Toyota 4Runner "s13wb" marked calipers, can any one help me figure out which rotors, spacers, or any modifications in order to have these calipers function properly? i have heard you can use rotors off a 1984 300zx 4lug but they did not mention anything about spacers or back plate trimming. any feed back would be much appreciated, thank you ;]

Just replaced my brake pads with some Beck Arnley 089-0020 pads, from Rock Auto, and after a few hundred miles I noticed some noise. It sounded a lot like a wheel bearing going bad, but other times it sounded like something small caught between the disc and pad, like a piece of gravel. Sometimes there was no noise at all. But it wasn't consistent enough to decide which source was most likely, so I took the pads back out to look, before changing bearings that had seemed fine before. What I found was that the paint, a thick coating, on the sides of the pads had debonded from the pad material and was sticking up like a reed, rubbing on the disc. Apparently, if the orien…

My neighbor has a set of 1972 240Z wheel covers (hubcaps) that he is looking to sell. His wheels were sold out from under him, so he doesn't need the hubcaps anymore. They are in decent shape, only one small dent that can be hammered out. Any ideas on valuation? Thanks!

Hi, I have a 1973 240z and I am about to try tackling the brakes on my own. I have new brake lines, new calipers, and a new master cylinder, but I don't know what to do first. Should I completely drain the system of the old brake fluid first, then do the brake lines? I will bench-bleed the master cylinder first and then hook it up but I didn't know if its a bad idea to completely drain all the lines first? and do I bleed the rear then the front or what order? Thanks!

I have a problem with my brakes in my '72 Z. Just bought it not too long ago. When I apply the brakes, the pedal is pretty stiff going down, (that's what she said) and when the brakes catch, it goes left. The p.o. said he had just put a new brake system on. Could it be the lines weren't bled correctly? It's in getting a face lift with the painter, but I thought I would ask now, to know how to proceed. Any thoughts would be welcomed..... Tim

Hi there, I'm trying to decide wether to opt and go for fender flares or not. I want to go for something like a 15x10 wheel. Would it still be necessary to cut body metal away for flare fitment with this size wheel? Thanks, Dave.

My Z is a 7/72 build; however, it has the (from what I gather) earlier braking system, with the drum brake cylinder assemblies whose hard line comes out the front, as opposed to the side. Pre-mid-72 wheel cylinders seem to be at least twice as expensive as the later ones, if they're even available at all. That being said, can I buy a rebuild kit for the later cylinders and use it on my early wheel cylinders? How similar are the internals? Anyone done this? Thanks guys.
