Went to drive my 76 280 today and found one of the tires flat. My tires have good tread however the one tire had signs of dry rought and eventually started leaking. I am debating over just getting one tire for now or getting 4 new tires. If I get new tires does anyone have a suggestion. I plan on getting new rims down the road and would like to have nice looking tires as well. Just thought I would check in before spending money and wish I would have done something different. I am getting the car repainted in about 1 month and the car will be about 90% restored. A few things left inside but mostly good. Thanks

I need to replace a set of 205/55/16 tires, currently Toyo T1R. The T1Rs were very good on the street and at the track but after 7 years they are deteriorating despite lots of remaining tread. I am considering: Toyo Proxes 4 A/S Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S Any experience with these tires or other suggestions? Thx

Where does the forward end of this spring (#23 in drawing below) attach to the linkage? I can see the hook welded to the body for the back end of the spring.

I am slowly rebuilding a 1973 240z. I was getting leaking from a rear cylinder and a front caliper was not getting any fluid so I replaced both rear cylinders, new brake shoes, new front calipers and pads, and a new master cylinder. I bled the master cylinder first and then bled all four brakes beginning with the right rear using a vacuum bleeder as well as the traditional buddy system. I have checked over all the lines for leaks and have found nothing. No matter what I do I can not get a good solid brake without pumping them a couple of times. When I depress the brake pedal my brake light comes on. According to the manual this could indicate a pressure differential betw…

Am finally able to get back to putting my 240 back together. Is it really an upgrade from the stock rear drums to a ZX disc brake conversion? The pads are miniture. While the cost isn't horrible, it is still money. I know from experience on my Volvo that converting the fronts and then the rears, for average daily driving the installation of disk brakes did nothing but eliminate the pull to the right. They look cool and offer some bragging rights, but it doesn't stop any faster. Would those you who did this conversion, not some high end one, and not the track warriors, would you put the time and money into a ZX rear disc convesion? Leonard

Looking at a trade for yet another set of vintage rims. Who has a set of these? I haven't seen these in person yet, so I can't measure them. I know they're 14x5.5", but I'd like to know what size the center hole is so I can determine center caps for them. Also would love to see pics of these on a Z, especially red ones!

First I started going through replacement brake lights, the last one only lasting a week. Now the brake lights won't come on at all. The running lights are fine, as are the other lights. Any ideas?

I need a center cap (Metal) for one of my Rims. One of them got damaged, in a minor traffic accident back in the mid eighties. My wife was driving the Z but it wasn't her fault. I'm looking for one with no rust. Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is just a curiority question since I don't think it is a mechanical issue. Does anyone know why or what the purpose is for the lead "rivit" that is in the hole opposite the inspection hole on the Z car brake drums? Mine is a '72 and I just had the drums turned and one of the lead fittings broke. I plan on just putting a rubber filler plug in there (same as the inspection hole) but what is the purpose of the lead fitting? Harry

I am looking for new tires and have done a quick search online. The Perelli P4 seems ok, it's not fancy, not expensive and I can get it in 195 70 14 size. It's review ratings at tire rack are in the 80% range. Anyone familiar? Can anyone recommend a better reasonably priced tire? SB

Can someone please measure a typical aftermarket wheel shank-style lugnut diameter? I am in search of lugnuts for typical 14x6 slot mags and I need the shank diameter. I can remove a wheel tonight at home, but I really need the info right away. I used to be able to buy them easily, but lately they are really hard to find and when I do find them, they are the wrong length or diameter. Thanks in advance.
