I would like to restore the hubcaps on my 1978 280z. Has anyone done so and would like to share their experience. I need the correct paint colors and types of paints used. Mine are faded so I cant tell what sections of the caps get what color.

So I just finished installing new calipers, shoes and went the bleed the brakes. After bleeding them all i noticed i could still hear air and it was coming form the master cylinder where it connects to the master vac, near the bottom. Is there a gasket that goes there? or is one or both of those broken and needs to be replaced... Also when i pressed on the brakes only the rear would lock up not the front

Hello all, I'm a newbie here. I just bought this 240Z pictured. I was wondering if anyone knew name of the rims. They are (obviously) aftermarket, aluminum and 15". Thanks

My spare tire has been flat for quite while, it won't hold air since the rim had rusted and pitted from sitting in the water-filled wheel well before I got the car. I was in the wrecking yard looking for a short drive shaft from an early 240Z and thought the local 1971 240Z might have one. The drive shaft was the typical 280Z length, so that was a no-go, but the spare tire in the car still had air pressure and looked in decent shape. So I bought it for $15. I just looked up Bridgestone RD-150 to see what I had and how old it might be and find that it's probably the original 1971 spare tire. 40+ years old. They sold it to me as a "space saver" mini doughnut tire so I…

Forgive me for posting this and moderators please move or delete if it is offensive or out of lone, but I respect the collective knowledge of this forum and hope someone may know the answer. I have an 04 3.5 Altima. This morning it was 18 degrees, colder than normal for the Atlanta area. The car was left out overnite and when I backed out of the driveway and hit the brakes to stop, there was no stopping. The pedal was hard and fortunately I was going slow so didn't roll to far and no one was on the road. I pulled forward and still no brakes for around 45 seconds when it finally loosened up and I had brakes again. I have never experienced this in any car. So I am…

Hey guys, engine tuning is starting to come to an end, and I'd like to get an idea of what the next step of the project entails...that next step is the whole brake system. I'd prefer if the car was able to stop before it drives! I must point out though, that this car has been sitting, all fluids in it, since about 2000, and I really have no idea what condition the brakes are in. I'm sure the hydraulics are totally shot, and I'm almost positive the brakes themselves are completely shot as well. The catch of the whole thing is, my friend and I are on a super tight budget. That means if we have something already on the car (i.e. the whole brake system) and it's cheaper…

Is there something i don't know. Like, perhaps there is no bleed nipple? The hard line goes directly into the wheel and there is no bleed nipple, nor a hole that looks to have once held one. The car is a 1971. If anyone can please shed some light on this for me i'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hey everyone! I have deal for someone. At the 2011 Midwest Z show in the Chicago area I received a gift certificate from J&G Relining for a discount on relining the original drums from a first generation Z car. The specific vendor's site is here: http://jgrelining.com/ The Gift certificate entitles the bearer to "Reline 2 aluminum drums and get the 2nd. for 1/2 price." I assume that this is basically a 25% discount. See the image below: This subject was discussed in another thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?37396-Anyone-interested-in-relined-Aluminum-drums Anyway, I would really like to know if this process works, but it will be year…

Looking for an upgrade to dual master cylinders. Running Brembo 4-piston calipers all the way around. Would love a little more pedal control & not sure a single master cylinder is the right way to go, even with proportioning valve. Searched forums but didn't come up with any answers. Any advice?

I am having a hard time finding a new master for my 71 series 1 and have noticed that the one for the series 2 is a little different and alot easier to find (also cheaper). does it matter which one I get? The only ones I can find for my car are on ebay and range from 2 to 300 bucks.

I just disassembled the brake calipers on my '78 280z and had a few questions. All the cylinder bores were in good shape but I noticed a couple of the pistons had some mid corrosion. You can't feel the corrosion spots unless you drag a fingernail across. Will I be able to rebuild these calipers or will I need to look at replacing them? Can you buy replacement pistons? I haven't been able to find any info so far. Thanks for the responses. Brent
