I cleaned clear coated aluminum rims today. At first I just used soap, 3 different scrub brushes and a scotchbrite pad. There were dark spots in the "corners" and deep in the wheel where the brake dust would not come off even with the scotchbrite pad (rougher sand cast areas). I had a wheel solution that I forgot about and gave it a try. Wow, it cleaned everything with just a gentle srubbing action after a 30 second soak. I strongly recommended it: Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. It works.

Hi all, I have a problem with my brakes. I have read lots of posts on the topic, and I wanted to get some reassurement, that I am on the right track. For the longest time, I thought my brake booster / Master Vac was toast. It seemed that when I stepped on the brakes, the first half of the brake pedal travel was normal, and the braking itself seemed normal. After about the halfway mark of pedal travel I reached a strong resistance, it felt like I floored the pedal. Strong braking needed a lot of effort all of a sudden. So I thought the brake booster was not doing its job anymore after this point. I checked various Z forums. I read that if a brake booster is defective, it d…

I'm bleeding my brakes. The whole system is dry (no fluid in the system). I bench bled the MC and hooked up all the lines. I've been pumping on the system for an hour and still getting mostly air. Is this normal? How long does it take? Thanks. Guy

Since the 79-81 280ZX BMC is almost unobtainium I was wondering what others have done or are thinking about doing? 1. Is there any advantage to using the Wildwood 1" BMC as outlined on the HybridZ forum? 2. Should I wait hoping that supplies will become available again? 3. Is anyone running the Toyota 4 pot front Brake calipers and stock rear drums with the 7/8" stock 240Z BMC? If so what is the pedal throw Like? By the way this for a 1973 240Z

I looked over at HybridZ about the maxima rear caliper brackets for disc brake conversion. Two stickies give two different answers on what years I need. One says 1981-1984 the other says 1985-1988. I cannot find OE salvage yard brackets anywhere, so this requires me to buy new ones. Modern Motorsports sells them for the 240zx brakes but not the 280zx brakes. I want to use 280zx brakes since I am buying a 280zx parts car this weekend. What are my options for brackets? I refuse to buy the ones at Modern, as the cost is way too high for what you get. You don't need all the other crap they are charging you for in the kit, you just need brackets. I would post over at h…
