Does anyone out there know of, or have experienced any clearance issues using the four piston calipers from the 4runnner brake upgrade. The one that uses the wider vented rotors. I'm planning on using 15X7 Konig Rewinds (not sure of the offset)

I am ready to make my purchase next month. I am looking to replace the panasports with a rim wth a darker center section. I love the koing rewings in a 16x7 much the same way Frank has them on his 1970 Z. but I am also craving the VTO replicas that are suppose to come out in a matt dark silver that the folks at VTO say are coming. What is the best place to purchase the konigs online? Anybody have any advice. Is MSA the end all be all for Konig prices? Also, the VTO's are not widely available either. One thing I know, is in June, my Z is going to have some new shoes. Anybody want to buy some silver 15x7 panasports?

Hey guys I got a set of wheels with tires last fall for a super steel. A buddy of mine practically gave them to me. The problem is they don't fit my 280. I tried to put them on but they were just touching the coils on the front. What Im wanting to know is what spacer size I need and where they can be had the cheapest. Im pretty much a noob about all this so forgive my stupidity. The stats: 5 spoke ADR 58 18x7.5 Tires: NANKANG Ultra Sport NS II 215 35R18 84H This is pretty much the wheel I got, with a slight cosmetic difference: http://www.maxspeedperformance.com/xcart/product.php?productid=12429&cat=22 They came off a 2000 Infinity g20 Thanks guys!

Helping a friend on his 75 280. Just put on toyota 4 piston calipers on the front and ZX calipers on the rear. New steel braided lines on all four corners and a new 15/16 master cylinder. All the calipers are new/reman. The pedal seems to go halfway down before any "feel" and more to the point, there is very little pressure to the left rear caliper. If we pump up a half dozen times or more, there is movement in the caliper piston and it does hold until the pedal is release. The feel in the pedal remains the same. I have been reading posts on this conversion for some time as the exact system is going to go on my 72, but I don't recall anything on this particular issue.…

I have a 240z and just today I purchased a set of 16x7 Konig Rewinds. My original plan was to go with 15"s, but due to 15" tire selection becoming more and more limited each time I buy tires, I opted for the 16"s. One of the reasons I wanted 15"s was I like the appearance of a taller sidewall. Has anyone had any issues with rubbing using 205 55r 16 tires? It has been suggested to go with a 50 series tire, but I think (IMO) low profile tires give the classic Z lines a boy racer look. I'm planning on going with a Tokico spring and shock kit which lowers the car by 1".

Hello all- I just recently purchased as set of 17 x7 Konigs for my S30 Z and would like input on tire size. I would like to put a set of 245/50's on them but not sure if this would clear the stock struts with Tokico springs and shocks, as well as the body itself. Any input would be appreciated. I finally replaced the old tires that came when I bought the car back in July 2007. It was a shame to replace them, as they had plenty of tread. but they were 7 years old. They were hard as a rock. Anyway, I upgraded to some Bridgestone Protenza Pole Position RE960AS 195x60x14s. There aren't too many choices in the 14s, and I wanted to keep my 14 inch wheels. A big plus on these tires is that they are amazingly quiet. I was shocked at the difference. As you know, the 240Z isn't a quiet car. Apparently a lot of the noise in mine was from the old tires. I was expecting a decrease in road noise, based on Tire Rack's user reviews, but the difference from the old t…

Just about to do a full brake line installation on a 71 restoration and I checked the net for some useful tips prior to the job: 0. Take time 1. Cut the line with a saw instead of a tubing cutter (tube cutter can harden the metal). 90 degree is ideal. To be sure, stick the tube in a bushing and hand file to 90. 2. Use emery paper to the end of the line to rough it up a bit (helps the clamp to hold it) 3. Set the correct height for the tube 4. Lube the threads of the clamp to improve the tools functioning 5. Tighten the clamp evenly to hold the brake tube. (One tip suggests tightening asymmetrically with the nearest side being tightened first however others say that symm…

hi guys, i have a problem with my brakes. They are shocking when i brake. I feels like your rotor is bended. not straight. So i put some new rotors on with new brakepads. I've also mounted new brake lines to the hoses at the front. After this the problem is stil there. then i opened up my calipers and found out that the cilinders inside were rusted. So i bought some second hand calipers with perfect cilinders inside. Also bought a sealkit for the calipers but i havent had time to repair the calipers. could this be the solution? Otherwise where do i have to look then? I also bought a new brake master cilinder from a 280zx. I am going to clean up that one and install it. I …

Sorry if this is real basic stuff, but I simply don't know. Vehicle: 1972 240Z I recently pulled the rear drums to check the brake linings. Not quite gone, but getting close enough to replace. While I had the drums off, I checked the inside diameter of the drum with a ruler (no micrometer). Both drums had a ridge of sorts around, I guess the inside (towards differential) interior. I'm guessing that the ridge was the part of the drum that did not come into contact with the brake shoes. Measuring across the ridge, one of the drums, even using such a crude device as a ruler, clearly exceeded the maximum stamped on the drum (10.06 inches, I believe). The other -- well,…
