My Z has a brand new set of Michelins on it, that I'd rather not replace. However I'm considering a 14x7 rim as an option. I know that the stock tire size should fit on the rim, but I'm wondering if it will look a bit off with the wider rim or if it will still look natural. Does anyone have this setup or a pic of a 14x7 rim with said tire ? Thanks, Eric

O.K. guys sorry in advance for the long post. My '71 was in storage for approx 23 years. At some point the master cylinder was removed so the system was basically "open" for lack of a better term. I've replaced everything with new except hard lines(cleaned out) and the factory proportioning valve. Everything has been bled properly including the master. My problem is that after bleeding, I get a firm pedal which apparently is only activating the rear brakes. I'm getting good clear fluid out of the calipers, but no braking action. I'm wondering if it's possible there may be something gummed up in the proportioning valve??? The master and rear wheel cylinders are Nis…

Could someone tell me if they have the 280ZX snowflakes wheels installed on a 240Z? If so, what maximum size tires can/would fit? Because I want to use the 225/50/15..

Thinking about a 195/65/14 tire to replace the 70 series. Anybody running these on a STOCK HEIGHT 240z? Does anyone have any pics? Will

Hey all, The choices for 240Z wheels are very (VERY) limited, so I'm contemplating on going another route - swapping out the hubs to change the bolt pattern so that I have more wheel options. I see a couple kits out there, like this: http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=71 But I don't see much discussion here about doing this. I'd like feedback from anyone who has done it or opinions from those who thought about it but didn't. I do see some discussions around the web from folks who drilled out their rear hubs (and used Z31 fronts) to handle 5 lug wheels - but I'm not all that interested in drilling/weakening my hubs.... There is also …

Hi guys, I'm looking for at least one screw on type P/S (Performace Specialties) center cap for a set of slotted mags. Anybody have any spares to part with or know where I might find one?

Encountering a situation where my rear brake lights will not turn off... have attempted to pump the brakes (that are functional otherwise) in an attempt to loosen any pressure switch that may be stuck - brake lights are still on. Suggestions from the peanut gallery where I might continue working the issue? Would prefer not to break the brake line circuit if I don't need to. Thanks much folks & Happy Turkey Day!! Steve

OK I'm restoring my car, got a good rebuild kit for the master cylinder. Got to removing the valve cap screws and no luck, I broke a 29mm box end wrench. Before I put that amount of force on the part and it would not budge, I tried in a vice, penetrating oil, then a little heat, then I decided to put the part in a tub of just penetrating oil for one week, then heat again till it starting to get red put some dry ice on the valve cap and turned, no luck. tried wrench and hitting the wrench with a hammer for one hour, then i tried a little heat and then some force, wrench brakes. all parts are not cracked, does anyone have an idea?

I hope this doesn't cover ground already covered elsewhere. I did search through the forums but didn't see this exact question, so here goes. I'm looking at a new set of tires for one of my '78 coupes. Both have the stock 14" steel wheels. I've been pretty happy with the set of Yokohama Avid tires I have on the other '78, which I believe are 185/70R-14. I know very little about tire design, etc. and am wondering what the difference would be if I used 195/70R-14's on this one. Is one "better" than the other for a stock 280Z as far as performance, handling, etc? These would be used for normal everyday driving as well as the occasional high-speed zips around curves and win…

I'm looking at a set of Enkei 92 wheels for my Z that are 14x6 ET 33. Am I correct in assuming I would need at least a 20-30 mm spacer on these for good fitment? I'm not a fan of running big spacers, but I figured it was a good deal for these at $250 w/ tires. Also, anyone know a good place to find spacers if I end up going that route? Thanks, Alex
