I have a 76 280Z, and today when I went to move it into the garage, the brake pedal basically sunk to the floor, and only the very last bit of pedal space, would allow the brakes to be used....very slightly . I checked for leaks everywhere, and I have yet to find one. There is fluid in both reservoirs of the master cylinder, and it is a brand new master cylinder. I also tried pumping the brakes with the car off to see if the pedal would build pressure, and it did not, it would just continue to pump and never stiffen up. So does this sound like a bad brake booster?

Heh Guys, Can someone please photoshop the Per-Spec rims on my 280Z please in the photos below? I appoligize ahead of time for the photo size in the thread but this PC won't save file pics for upload. Included is a link to the original digital photos on photobucket to look over too. I would like to see how they would look in 3 different styles of all Black. 1st is all Gloss Black, my personal fav. 2nd is Black with Silver lug nuts. 3rd is All Black with a Silver Lip, (the entire rim section area from the bottom of the tire inflation stem outward in Silver. Just like the wide flat silver lip edges on the black Z in the very bottom photo.) If anyone…

Had to rebuild my driver's side rear wheel cylinder and I managed to strip the hex-fitting on the hard line where it meets the cylinder. Won't be doing that again, I subsequently picked up a set of flare nut wrenches and a mini-blow torch! This line is kinda crescent shaped and I would like to replace it with an identical line. Does anyone have one I could buy, or know where I can get one? This is the early style, of a '70. Thanks guys.

First and foremost, i have read through some posts enough to understand that the 240sx calipers will work on a 280z. I currently have stock drums on the rear of my 75 280z and have a chance to get the complete set of rear disc brakes from a mid 90's 240sx for free. Im just wondering exactly what parts will i be able to use from it, and what parts will i still have to go find. Thanks.

Hey guys Today I invested in a set of new tires. 215/70R14 in the rear and the stock 195/70R14s in the front. Car drives great but I've noticed that when I decelerate I get a thud thud thud sound from the rear passenger's side. The best way I can describe it is it sounds like I'm crossing a bridge. (and hitting the spacers on the bridge once in a while). The tires don't rub. Three things that I've thought of at the moment. One, for some reason they used different lugs on the one tire. don't know why, but it could maybe make a difference. Secondly, the struts on the rear are gone, literally I don't think they "absorb" any kind of impact anymore. They are leaking fairly ba…

What would cause this? I recently put my 240z back on the road after sitting dormant for 20+ years and stepping on the brakes yields a heavy pulsation from what seems to be the rear end, but it's really hard to say for sure. I've checked the usual brakes and bearings with nothing of note. The pads, calipers, shoes, and pads are all new. The rear tires are new. I'm kinda suspicious of a flat spot on the front tires from sitting, but I'd think I'd feel that all the time, not just when brakes are applied. I wish I had a tow truck so I could test it with the front end in the air and know for sure it's the back...

Had this tire come apart on the left rear while on my way home from Z-con in Nashville. No loss of air; no signs of problems on the other three. Happened on I-24S. No indication that I ran over anything; just came apart. Anyone ever have this happen, or know maybe why and how it happens? I didn't trust the remaining 3, so I sprung for a new set.

HI everyone, I searched and couldn't find an answer so I thought I bette ask. I should be getting my Rota RB's today and have a quick question. What kind of lug nuts do they use? I currently have slotted mags that take the lug nuts with the shank?. Do the Rota's take standard lug nuts that I see for sale on ebay or can get at the local pep boys? Thanks. carl
