I have a stock height '78 280Z and am looking to purchase Panasport/Konig Rewind 15 x 7 silver rims. For this setup my tire choices appear to be: 205/60 15 225/50 15 225/55 15 I have used the tire calculator & the top & bottom sizes appear to be closest to my stock 195/70 14's. Recommendations?

Well I am embarrassed to say this, but I hope my Z friends will bare with me. When I installed my ITG air cleaners it was a temporary fix. My problem was that after I removed my stock air cleaner, I honestly could not get it back on. My Master cylinder (non Z original part, has been replaced somewhat recently by PO) has ports on each side to facility easier routing I would imagine. My brakes come out of the fender side of the master cylinder. The plugs put in the side that face the air cleaner are too long to allow the air cleaner to be put back on. I know what all of your are thinking. If I can get it off, I should be able to put it back on. NO SO says I!!! I was…

Okay, my front end conversion has been well documented, and I really love the looks of it. I get far more compliments now than I ever have. However, ever since I installed the new front valance and the stock body work, I have had an issue. When I turn the wheel left a certain amount the right front tire rubs the stock body work. If I turn past it, I am fine, and if I turn less sharp I am fine. And it was only in reverse it happened. That led me to believe that perhaps my Tension rod bushings were worn as that would allow fore aft movement of the front control arm. So I replaced that with a poly set (the steering feel is great now by the way). However, rather tha…

I am trying to decide if I should buy some wire wheels from my 240Z. If anyone has picture of a Z car with wire wheels please post. I really like wire wheels but am a little unsure as to whether or not they will look right on a Z.

I recently took my Z out to a local car get together this weekend just to kick the dust off. Well it has been about 3 months since I drove my old gal, and I wanted to see if the Tension rod bushings made any difference, and just let her move some gas through the carbs. WHen driving down the road, with the windows down I heard what sounded like a SHT, SHT, SHT, coming from what I think is the drivers rear. I thought perhaps I may have let it sit too long with the emergency brake on. So I figured I would just get her up to about 40 and wait for a safe distance and lock up the brakes to see if maybe something was rubbing. Believe it or not, that seemed to help. But whe…

Hi guys, I've been trying to upgrade the brakes on my 240Z; but am finding that all the online vendors are charging way too much for simple parts like a pair of 0.663" spacer for $120 shipped. Any way long story short i've found a nice local CNC machine shop that will machine the spacer for me @ $35 per spacer. The catch is that they will only machine in sets of 10 spacers at a time minimum. So I'm here to see if anyone else needed a the spacers for the brake upgrade. If you are looking for spacers please let me know. You would be paying $35 per spacer +3% paypal fee + Shipping (including packing material). I am having the spacers machined off the drawing that was made by…

Thought these were kind of cool, so I decided to post them up in case anyone's interested. They look very similar to a7dz's wheels, which I've always admired. http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/1412707165.html Don't know if the wheel specs quoted in the ad are correct (8.5" width?), I would want to verify. in 5 years i've put on 11K miles. i noticed my back tires are almost bald. the passenger ( i presume to be the drive wheel) tire is the worst. the front tires look ok. i believe not more than 1K miles were put on them before me. shouldn't tires last 50 to 60K miles under normal driving conditions? the make are vredestein sprint 175R14 radial dot 0103

Hi All, I found this link on youtube and really love the wheels; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EKuXCTq4Hc&feature=related and so far, I know the wheels are R-Type Watanabe 15". I do not know the widths, or the offsets. Can anybody please help me identify the actual offsets and widths? I can see the front are narrower than the years, so I guess it might be 7" fronts and 8" rears. Again, would really appreciate some help on this one.

I recall a set of nice "D" hubcaps going for somewhere slightly above $1000 several years ago. Well, here's a set on Long Island CL described as "incredible" for $1300. http://longisland.craigslist.org/pts/1387459937.html (Disclaimers: Not mine, don't know seller, not endorsing, etc., etc.) Gary S.

Hey guys, I have been readin on line and talkin to msa. I recently restored my car and i am ready to drive it. However no brakes. I filled the lines and bleed the master cylinder (which is pretty new), and at the wheels, farthest first. I can not seem to get any brake. I have to pump the brakes several times to get any kind of firmness, not even close to the old double pump action i use to deal with. Would I be right in assuming a leak some where? I see no fluid spurting out and the reservoirs stay up, but this is all that makes sense. I was thinkin a new master vac but i don't think i am having that problem. Input please! Thanks Frankie
