I went yesterday to get a little "wobble" out of my rear end of my '72 yesterday - I was wobbling at 55mph+ . I pulled the rear wheels off and just took the wheels to my tire man (I don't like the air wrench so I take mine off and torque them on myself). We got the rear mounted tires and rims out of my X5 and he got one wheel on the spinner and started spinning. On the inside setting (the one that tells where the weights to be placed on the inside of the rim only) said it was dead on - the tech changed the setting for both the inside and the outside weights and it still read off. I was a little puzzled so we removed that wheel and put the other on. He gave it a spin…

Is there any other 14" regular wheel that will fit that I could use? I'd rather not use racing wheels or mags, etc or go bigger. Just a plan 14" wheel that I can use my 280z hub caps on. I bought a used set from a '78 that were worse than mine so I'm looking for a new set of wheels this time.

Hey everyone, I have a question. In the restoration of my 240z I have a quandry. I have the brake lines and fuel lines from the car and am not sure what to do with them. They seem to be in pretty good shape. Obviously most of the coating has worn away but they are not rusty and seem pretty solid. The question is.... do I have them replated and use them or do you replace them with either the stainless steel lines or make my own. I know part of the question comes down to authenticity of maintaining a stock 240z but my main concern is one of reliability. Have people out there found that after 30 some odd years, you are better off replacing them or if they are in good…

(IPO - Idiot Previous Owner) I just finished changing the calipers (with loaded calipers), rotors and soft hoses on the front brakes on my 260Z. I just have to issue this rant. I purchased the 260Z in early 2008. My garage looks nice with a 73 & 74 parked next to each other. By sheer coincidence, they are the same color, too. Anyway, I noticed the 260 pulled to the right under braking. I figured it was dragging a caliper. I put it on my round-tuit list and waited for my wife to stop spending money long enough for me to buy brake parts. After a year and a half, I finally got clued in to the fact that she wasn't really going to slow down, so I decided to just go ahead a…

I have strongly been thinking of picking up another set of panasports for my daily street driving and using my current set for autocross. I have always love the look of the gold panasports... Do you guys think I can pull that off?

Do brand new brake drums need to be turned before I install them? They both seem fine; I tried searching around but couldn't find an answer.

My passenger side caliber has begun to leak badly. I decided after 33 years its probably time to replace/rebuilt it. Autozone has a "new" caliper for 30 dollars, and i found a rebuild kit for 50. Is there a benefit to rebuilding?? Also, on caliper is fine, the other leaks, do i need to replace both at the same time??

Sorry guys but I searched through threads here but only found sizes for changing the wheel size. What was the original wheel size for a '77 coupe? Just the plain wheels that came out in prodcution. I know they are 14" but what was the width (4.5? or 5? or other) and offset (if applicable)? Three of my rims are out of round and I'm going to go ahead and buy new ones but I need this info so I can shop around. Thanks

Hey guys, First of all i just wanted to thank everybody for the help i have received on this site, without it i don't think i would have gotten any where on my car. I went to move my fuel lines yesterday for some welding and realized that they are very rusted and old, so are my brake lines. I am looking to remove all the hard lines and replace them with new. My first question is are my brake lines and fuel lines the same type of material can i get tubes that will work for both? Also for those of you that have done this can i get some pointers on what to look out for as it looks to be a pretty indepth job? Finally where can i get these lines, I saw the brake lines on …

I went through my brakes, put on new rotors and pads, new back brakes, wheel clylinders, stainless braided lines, cleaned out the old nasty fluid from all the lines and put in DOT 5 fluid. what happens now is that the brakes will function great, good pedal for a indeterminate amount of times and then they will go to the floor and the brake warning light comes on! Sometimes it will be one good pedal and maybe the next time it will be 6 times and they always pump up fine. I'm stumped!

You get two anti-squeal shims in a package, but do you only one per side or two? The FSM shows two on the one caliper. The confusing thing was that the tabs looked like you would put one on each caliper, but the arrows didn't match the rotation. thxZ

I just bought a '77 280z with with some wheels that don't fit that I plan on taking off, and I'm buying a nazi set. They are off a '82 turbo 280zx. I believe the stock wheels on the z are 14s (no clue what width), these new wheels are 15x7s. Will they fit and not rub? Thanks!
